Definitely targeted (if they gave £10 to everyone who sold an item.. well, lot of £10's)

I had this a few months ago, I sold an item in line with the T's&C's and waited for the voucher to be emailed to me. It did say it could take up to three weeks after the sale date so I waited patiently, checked my emails, junk emails and my account in case it was there but it never arrived. I got on to eBay support for help.

Long story short it took three weeks emails and phone calls to be told it has been applied to my account a few days after I sold an item. I explained I had no email or code anywhere on my account. They told me that because I hadn't used it, it had expired and they couldn't give me a new one. I asked how I was supposed to use it when I didn't know what it was and that it wasn't clear I had "received" the voucher because they themselves took three weeks to realise. They still wouldn't budge and then didn't respond to emails as they decided the issue was resolved.

Very disappointing.

Just a million? I've got $15 million being delivered by armoured vehicle. True story if you believe my email.

I don't bother with those Nigerian guys unless they are talking billions (it's just not worth the hassle)

Same thing happened to me last year, i couldnt find any code anywhere then i was told it had expired, that and the fact that there are either a lot of dishonest postmen or a lot of dishonest buyers (dont get me started on the paypal/ebay one company charging the seller two lots of selling fee charges for the same item scam)have made my mind up not to bother selling on there again.

I am 100% with you. I hadn't sold in ages for similar reasons and thought this offer was worth a go and it really wasn't in the end.

Also bought an item a few weeks after (some blinds) spoke with the seller and asked what the width and length of the blind slats were as it wasn't in the description, he told me the length and width and it was what I was looking for.

They arrived quickly but were two inches shorter than described (the width was correct). When I contacted him he told me he gave me the length of the window they are for as this is how shops sell them!?! I asked for to return them for a refund an he told me I could have a partial refund because I was at fault too. He then ignored all messages, I opened a case and he still offered a partial refund trying to say I was confused from the start and made out I was some sort of idiot.

So last two experiences have left me out of pocket or with selling fees that made the whole sale worth a few quid. Never again!

I had similar problem, bought from HK never received goods and by the time refund was agreed the voucher had expired and EBay said 'tough', so lost the value of the voucher.Won't be bothering again.

The customer service is so bad. I've given up too now. More hassle than it's worth. I stick to Gumtree, Shpock, local charity shops and good old fashioned car boot sales when I want to find a bargain now.
