Got mine for £1 from the council

Similar for £1 in Poundland!

thx - was thinking of getting one of these for a while now for the bike. 10% code also worked for me
#5
yea i got one from poundshop also..

The 8mm hex key is very useful - it's the standard size for crank bolts but a lot of multi-tools don't have one that big.

hope the "£1 club" don't get too upset when they mangle the allen bolts on their bikes with the quality tools....:whistling:
Good price for a decent bit of kit.....

I got exactly this model free with my bike. The build quality is excellent, and at this price it's a great deal. Only real thing missing is a chain breaker.

Good luck to those guys with the £1 pig iron specials. In my experience bike tools are one of those bits of kit you only need once in a while, but when you need em you REALLY need them to work perfectly.

Lol I knew there were bike snobs around, but bike TOOL snobs?

nothing to do with snobbery - just experienence....with tools in general (not just for bikes) you tend to get what you pay for - cheap tools are typically not made of such good quality materials nor are they as well constructed as more expensive tools.
Given the vast increase in the number of people riding expensive bikes (mainly due to the Cycle to Work scheme), I was just trying to warn people not to expect great quality from extra cheap 'poundshop' deals and not to be too upset if they go down this route and then do some damage to their pride and joy - I have absolutely no problem with people pointing out better deals on a like for like basis - but this deal is comparing quality kit (at a vastly reduced price) with cheap tat - you pays your money and you takes your choice.....

Its a bit of metal shaped like a hexagon.

I appreciate that expensive bikes have better quality machining than cheap bikes. But I find it impossible to believe that price = quality about what is effectively a screwdriver.

Worst case scenario - the tool breaks. I fail to see how anyone could screw their bike with an inferior tool - just the tool.
