Do these things actually work, I mean, does anybody actually use a remote control that cost a quid? I bought one once for my son when he was a baby to stop him wanting my Sky + remote, but even he wasn't fooled and went back to wanting the real thing after about 2 minutes with one of these nasty cheap lightweight things.

I have one I use as a backup and yeah it's horrible, super light and generally just a bit crappy/unreliable. But it does what it's supposed to (most of the time) and you can't really complain after spending only a quid.

Yes you can. I foolishly used a £1 HDMI cable from Poundland and it almost trashed my Sony HD TV. It caused a short and threw my TV into a wobbly. It was promptly thrown in the bin, like most electronics from Poundland.;-)

My friend used one as a replacement for his projector. £1 well spent.
#15
I had to return it back twice.....dont buy!

My experience with these remotes is that they are useless, you spend a couple of days manually going through all the combinations for it to find your TV set as most of the time the codes for your set don't work. Then it loses the settings and if you haven't done the Mason's handshake key combination to find the code for your set then you have to go through the couple of days manually scanning to get it to work again and then it loses the settings by the next day. £1 is nothing, you can't buy time though.

cheaper than most door stops
#18
Lets hope the 99p shop gets them soon :)

Agree - this one is worse than the previous units sold at Poundland as this unit doesn't even have fast-text buttons. Yes I know something about beggars not being choosers but just highlighting previous versions were much better!! :)
