These paints are like water, and coverage is terrible. Not even fit for an undercoat, and the price isnt that cheap. Dont waste your time.


Find your nearest Dulux decorators centre, and buy this:

£4 more, but is so much better quality, proper trade quality, made for people that know what good paint it, unlike this b&q stuff,

I wish I had your skill to know what something is like just from a name. :whistling:

I actually don't think Crown is too bad for mass market DIY slop. Sure it's not up there with a good contract emulsion, but it's a heck of a lot better than most of the supermarket own brand brilliant whites which really are like water. £10 is a good price (though B&Q frequently have this offer) so OP have some heat.

And thanks to the other poster for the heads up on Gliddens - that seems a pretty good price for contract emulsion - especially if it's a good one.

Got a tub of this the other day and also a tub of some cheap un-named stuff - 10l for £7.50 which will be great for the newly plastered walls and ceilings for the *iss coat.
