£10 off should bring the prices down to the levels other supermarkets are offering on a daily basis.

Looks like minimum spend is £60, but link on daily Mail's website has gone.

Dear *********

Thank you for your email addressed to Sir Terry Leahy, our Chief Executive,
to which I have been asked to reply.

I am sorry for any upset caused when your local store would not accept your
competitor conditional spend coupons from Lidl, despite being told
previously that our stores accepted all of these coupons.

For your information, we currently accept conditional spend coupons from the
following competitors:

Asda
Morrisons
Sainsburys
Co-op
Marks & Spencer
Waitrose
Boots
Aldi

We continually review our own business strategy and how we perform within
the competitive retail sector. By accepting another retailer's coupons, we
need to understand how much of a benefit this is to our customers, in
comparison to the value it gives to our own business. With this in mind, we
reluctantly took the decision to no longer accept Lidl coupons. I am sorry
for any upset this has caused.

As a gesture of goodwill on this occasion, I would be happy to send you a
£5.00 Tesco Moneycard, to cover the coupon you were unable to use, given
that you were provided with inaccurate information when you called us.

Please get back to me with your full postal address, and I will send the
Moneycard to you straight away.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Kind Regards

I'd add Farmfoods to that list.

This sums up the nonsense of a policy that Tesco have. See how this contrasts to an e-mail send from Sir Terry's office.

I gave up with this nonsense a while back.

Tom, if you only buy the Waitrose's own branded products and the quality stuff this is well worth it.
If you are buying your Daz etc from Waitrose I would totally agree with you.

How much is the Daily Mail on Satuday? 80p?
#13
Hopefully voucher will be valid for a week as per the offer last year.

I was wondering if I could buy a few copies but that would rule that out!

Thanks OP. Will set a reminder to buy the newspaper this Sat.

I buy some incredible bargains from them regularly...all of their reduced stuff at end of day is super-cheap. Sandwiches up to 50p, a dozen sausages for £1.50 (from the meat counter), Charlie Bingham meals for 99p (reduced from £6.00).

You just have to shop around but the £10 would cover a week's shop! :)

So any hard evidence of the minimum spend anywhere?

Your welcome. I know waitrose isn't the cheapest but we do like to treat ourselves at Xmas so the £10 is very much welcomed. What isn't in doubt is the quality of the food.
#24
I have previously used Waitrose voucher at Tesco store - I will using it there.
#25
when is the voucher valid too?
#26
i have just tried to use this voucher at tesco burnage in manchester, they would not accept it at the checkout or customer service, i will be sending my email off to Mr Leahy

i have used a waitrose voucher before in tesco but they told me this would not scan this time, i asked them to enter it through the non-scanable button on the till screen but they would not do it.

Some stores may still accept it if pressed hard enough, i think

just an update on my post above - i called tesco customer services on Telephone 0800 505 555, and spoke with a nice polite lady there who advised that they do accepte the vouchers and she called through to the store manager a Gary Jones to confirm to him that he was to accept the voucher when i next visit the store

Interesting while in the store at customer service desk today , the store assistant called through to this same Gary and he said he would not accept the voucher.

I have no doubt that when i go in next saturday he may decide that he won't accept it again and claim it is at the managers discretion - we'll see.

I have just been to my local tesco and they wouldn't accept the voucher either. I've been on to customer service on the above number and spoke to a very helpful man and he said they should be accepting the vouchers. If the voucher doesn't scan they can get round the problem on the till by keying in the voucher. So he is now going to give the store a call and tell them whats what!! My tesco gift card is in the post :0)

I just been to Tesco Camberley and asked them before I started our weekly shopping. The customer service lady was very helpful and not sure whether they will accept it. She then rang someone and confirmed they accepted it in store.

This was accepted in my Tesco Extra this morning, they scan the bar code so I don't see why its not Nationwide.

It wasn't scanning in store yesterday so maybe it is now they've had so many complaints.

thank you so much ukhd, just been to tesco kingston park and the customer service desk were adamant that they did not honour waitrose vouchers, after a quick call to the store manager they very quickly reversed their stance. at the checkout it was easier and the supervisor put it through straight away as a "offer promise". very strange having to inform them of their own policy but a tenner saved none the less!
