At ScrewFix's Trade Counters, if you make any purchase then we give you a flyer with two promotions - one of these is 10% off for you and 10% off for a mate when you spend £50 or more between July 1st and July 11th. I certainly give one with every purchase - whether it's £1 or £100. I'm not too sure if codes can be redeemed online however.

The other offer is if you spend £500 online between those dates, then you get a free sat-nav.

You just have to write your customer number on the back (which is displayed on every invoice) and then your friend's customer number on theirs - and the code is valid for use between July 1st - 11th at every counter (as far as I know).

Screwfix have almost constantly got 10% off £50 purchases, usually online though. However, their prices are no longer particularly competitive. They are nearly always beaten by Toolstation, even with the 10% discount. They do have excellent customer service though.

Please bear in mind that Screwfix trade counters are notoriously badly stocked and there is no online or telephone stock check facility, so you may end up making a wasted journey. I know, I've been there.

Yes however there may not be a Toolstation necessarily near someone - for example my closest is about 45 minutes away.

I can vouch for the bad stock, however.

And if you call head-office on the freephone number they can check the stock over the phone at multiple TCs, and you can also call the store direct.

Yes, but Toolstation do free delivery on orders over £10, so even if there's no TC near you you can get most orders delivered.

The freephone stock check must be a fairly recent addition and also you never used to be able to contact the TCs direct, so both are a step forward.
