Need to spend £32 then to get the £10er.
Maths! oO
£25 + £5 vat (£25 @ 20% vat) = £30
Your math is wrong. You've added 20% of £25. If you spend £30 then your VAT is £6 and it works out £24.
You need to spend £31.25 for the price to work out to £25 ex. VAT

Does anyone know if using boots points would count towards the £25 spend?

Also it's £25 after vat I think :)
#2
Does it have to be £25 before discounts? Or can this be after discount codes?
i.e.
Spending £30 at bodyshop, use 40% discount code brings this down to a total of £18. Will this count for the £10 quidco bonus?
Thanks.

Nope...

Minimum spend of £25 applies. Excludes VAT and delivery.

I don't see how they can refuse the cashback if you spend £25 including VAT. Are we all supposed to get our calculators out and work out what everything costs excluding vat? What a nonsense.

Nope. It'll be what you end up spending, i.e. £25 after discounts.

does it have to be a fragrance purchase?? ie how will they know from very or boots what you purchase?

Makes me wonder if the Nike £10 quidco promo had a £25 minimum spend? Quidco did not state a minimum spend but surely there will be one?

Apologies I didn't word that very well. I meant £25 after vat is taken off.
My experience with quidco is that if there is a way they can get out of paying you they will! If they've stated a minimum spend I've been making sure it's been that total after it has been deducted to be on the safe side

I do wonder if they will honour all of these. So far I have signed up for Toys R Us, M&S (and others), Boots and Nike. Orders placed on 3 and Nike to do tonight.

On twitter that have said it's for all purchases at those retailers so I'm guessing it doesn't have to be a fragrance

Nervous about their T&C I accepted it successfully but terms do so only those who received this offer are eligible, I didn't receive an email from them about it so likely to get refused?
#15
£25 plus 20% vat = £30 spend, plus delivery if you choose not to use free click and collect which Boots do and perhaps others. So potentially 30% off, seems a hot deal to me.

I never received an email or anything but when logged into Quidco there was a banner at the top of the page to 'opt in' for the offer. You might have the same

I think you will have quite a wait, until the cashback changes to confirmed, which on a basic account can be up to a year for some retailers. I'm happy to be corrected if this is not the case.

To be fair I spent £31 at ELC but when it tracked it was £24.70?

I messaged quidco and got a bit of a generic message but they said not to worry the tenner would be paid when it tracked. Can only hope!!

I'm looking to buy a trimmer from boots. It's RRP is £39.99. Will I be eligible for the £10 bonus?

P.S - I have activated this offer on my Quidco account.

Combined with 750 points for 2 Smashbox items, cheapest currently £8.33. Also a Burts Bees gift tin as it's dry lip season - also on offer. Nice little saving :D

I've only signed up to quidco. I've spent £69.70 @ the fragrance shop. When will I get the £10? And will I be able to withdraw it to my bank account? Cheers

Are you joking? I'll also understand if you just moved to the UK, but you've got it completely wrong.

VAT is Value Added Tax and the standard rate is 20%.

When a VAT registered business wishes to sell something for £100 they need to add 20% VAT to it ie £100 + £20 = £120.

£100 + £20 vat = £120
£8.33 + £1.67 vat = £10
£25 + £5 vat = £30

The 20% VAT is added to the NET. You can't get the VAT figure by multiplying the GROSS by 20%!

You need to spend £25 ex. VAT and delivery to qualify. The website shows prices including VAT.
I stand by what I said, I'll give you time to figure it out...

EDIT: nevermind. I realised what I was doing wrong and it should have been obvious. My bad!

It's a fifth, if you can't work out what a fifth of 25 is then I don't think you should be trusted to with real money.

Yeah, we both agree on the requirement of £25 net of VAT.
I just reckon you shouldn't really stand by your £31.25 gross figure :)
Try this calculator.

Yeah I already realised I was wrong - check the edit. Thanks :)

It could be just due to their crappy software. Or possibly they deduct the P&P charges if there were any. Or some of the items were zero rate or 5% reduced rate VAT (still unlikely but both somewhat more likely if related to children's goods).

FFS I just bought perfume last night using Quidco from Boots. I only got £3.02 back. What a pain in the ass.

Do you have to type the retailers name on the quidco site and go through that to receive this offer once you've already activated it? Or can you just go through google to do it as I think I've made a mistake as I didn't go through quidco :(

hi becky, yes you have to go through quidco to make it work,

20% isn't that hard... ;)

Hmm I didn't get on to the VAT in the t&c's...is it definitely cashback over £30? Wish Quidco would be clearer on these things!
