Was £6.99
R&C or add delivery cost.

Cheap and cheerful I guess, reviews are mixed but it'll be good for projects with the kids or small jobs around the home. I'm sure the glue sticks could be bought at £ shops etc.

Glue gun with 10 glitter glue sticks.
10 watt power output.

Hot - need a glue gun to fix a bit of trim back on in my banger of a car - glittery glue will need to do!

Should be strong enough for something that basically holds itself in place anyway

Well for under £3 i'm collecting one as it's bound to come in handy next time my son needs to make something for school or wants to make cards etc. And we'll see if we can get clear ones for it too so hubby can use it for any odd-jobs.
It's worth a go at this price I think anyway.

I'm sure Poundland used to sell glue guns (with white glue sticks) - anyone seen them lately before I go pick this up?

Where do you buy extra glue sticks from please? Might fit this one :)

glue gun glue is not strong at all and no good for fixing stuff unless it is used to hold things together while the real glue dries..

WRONG!

There are different glues for one thing.

I have a pair of old trainers (Very comfortable) and the rubber/plastic sole will not stick with anything else.
Even taken them to the shoe repairers and they failed where my Glue gun, used as a last resort, succeeded.

Refills are easily available on fleabay but make sure that you get the right size.

This is worth it for the glue sticks alone and kids above 5yrs will have a lot of fun with it.

DIY stores like B&Q have plain white/clear ones or you can get them in craft stores as well but they tend to be a bit dearer there but they have coloured ones.

I was fixing something and the cable from my glue gun moved onto my very hot soldering iron melting right through the cable of the glue gun. Luckily nothing bad happened!

So good price for a new 'hot' glue gun!

"be good for projects with the kids"

Bad idea. These things are hot and the glue really burns. I wouldn't let young children anywhere near one.

Anything with 'Glitter' in the title should be kept away from kids...

Now I know why it takes so long to be seen at my local AE after a day of binge drinking ! Bloody thousands of 5 yr old kids with glue gun burns.......outrageous!

Schools use low temp glue guns and low temp glue which works at around 100 degrees Celsius. Standard glue guns are more like 200 degrees +

As this doesn't specifically say it's a low temperature gun it is safer to assume that it isn't.

It's a bit of a pointless product - there's lots of glitter glues and other safe materials for kids to use for making crafts. And if you want a serious glue gun to stick something for DIY use then you won't be using glitter glue sticks!

I swear by hot glue guns. The 6mm glue sticks (thinner ones) are available from Wilkinsons for 99p, Bostik brand, about 12 sticks I think. Home Bargains also have stock too from what I've seen, possibly cheaper I think. I stocked up on loads from Home Bargains, always useful when used correctly.
