Our 10 Way Tower style socket is a superb way of giving yourself flexibilty when numeous items need power. The cable is neatly stored in the base of the unit so even if you don't need the full 2 Metres of cable the rest can stay neatly tucked away inside. The cable simply pulls through the side entry hole in the base. It also has a neon power indicator on the top of the tower so you know when the unit is live.

are these safe ? i dont mean that in a stupid question sort of way

i mean i would have av receiver, tv, subwoofer, blu ray, xbox 360, laptop, external hard drive all plugged into one

is that not too great a load on ONE plug being split 10 ways

its not the amount of items its the load you need to worry about....eg even 10 tv's is prob fine, but i guess 3 (let alone 10) 2000w convector heaters prob wouldnt be a good idea
- bought a similar item from asda (dare i say it !!) with surge protection (hmm) for £10

This really, really ought to be in a FAQ. Every UK mains plug contains at maximum a 13A fuse, so if you try to draw more than 13A *in total* then the fuse will simply blow. Besides which, as has been stated, most appliances take hardly any power. You might find it beneficial to get yourself an energy monitor to get an idea of how much power various things take, and then you might be able to save yourself some money and waste.

apologies, but i work for my luxuries, if the country's power grid can't cope with the demand then they should the target of your sentiments not me lol
