Does anyone think they will soon issue HD as a free service soon? I'm still tempted to do this, i dont have HD but have a HD box (Cancelled the HD when the 12 month trial ended), I can just sell this box or my old one on ebay, and the marks and spencers vouchers payfor it themselves really

Good find

I hope they make HD free soon. Its strange as it used to be Sky+ at a premium, then HD came it was that. But maybe when 3D takes off to more than 1 channel that will be the premium cost?? Maybe.

Anyone know how long Sky normally take to send out the M&S vouchers? We signed up at the beginning of March for a free £50 voucher and not had it yet.

Hot deal.

I heard they may soon do away with the HD charge rumour as well, think it will coincide with the great analogue switch off, when your only choice is Freeview HD, Freesat or Sky HD...really hard to charge for something when others have it for free and that will all come to a head when analogue goes....meantime I went for the £100 M&S vouchers from the last time this promo was running....have to say the HD looks fantastic...now all I need is for Sky to scrap the charge, lol

Sky 3D is free with the HD package so you guys know...I'm still contemplating! They shouldn't be charging 10.25 to make channels in HD. The standard def is 720p anyway, it's not that much better or worth the extra money though...

I agree about the charge, but the £100 softens the blow, plus I get the free HD box AND the picture is definitly MUCH better on the HD channels, just check the golf or those programs already shot in true HD (not upscaled SD)

Tempting, I assume it's a 12 month contract? Can't see on the linked page

It wont let me do it with the HD box free. Only the HD channels and the vouchers. Still not bad, but I wont be going for it

I took it free for a year and yes it was good but not worth over £10 to me. With many of the normal channels going HD most of the HD stuff I was watching was free anyway. Another thing is recording HD stuff takes up much more of the hard drive, so less room for recordings! I wish I could use the other half of my drive thats reserved for anytime, which I don't use.

Just put a bigger HDD into your sky box. Simple to do and will give you all the recording time you need.

I was waiting for it to be out of the 1 year guarantee, guess I could do that now. Do you need special AV drives?

Hi, some people recommend CE (Comsumer Electronics) HDD's but i put a standard PC IDE drive in mine and it has been working great for over a year with no issues. There are some good guide on the internet that tell you all you need to know. X)

I assume if I already have a HD box, they are not going to give me a free updated one? Also if I have had a HD pack in the past would I miss out on the vouchers?

Quidco for new SKY customers is confusing:

INCREASED RATE
£85 for Sky+HD (+£100 M&S voucher from Sky)

Then it states...
Useful things to know
This retailer does not pay cashback if any voucher is used.

Do you have to setup the box if you are already a sky + customer or will an engineer come out?

If i'm on half price sky would that be cancelled out if I took this deal?

Like right now i'm paying £21 for Variety, Sky Sports 1-4 and style/culture. But if i opted for this deal would it go back up to full price?

If it does, ring up and complain ;) They tried to do that with me after I added ESPN for the final 2 months of the prem - I rang up and asked why the half price had stopped, they said sorry etc... Gave me 6 months again... So in total 8 months half price :p
