So you must use XYZ filaments and spools? Does that make runnign costs higher then other 3d printers?

Between £25 and £35 for filaments needed for this particular printer, I'm not a huge expert on 3d printers (this is my first real delve into the world of 3d printing just found a basic one for cheap here) but some quick googling looks like thats about average for the cheaper filaments so I'd argue it just means the inconvenience of having to buy specific filaments rather than higher cost.

But if they allowed it (they don't as they put a chip in to force you to buy their own stuff) wouldn't you have the choice to buy filament as below for a 1/3 of the cost? I am just think the same way as i do with 2d printers i.e. i only buy printers which allow me to use non-genuine parts to keep the running costs to a minimum. Otherwise i will just feel ripped-off everythime i printed anything ;)

Another option but like it has been said cost of filament is expensive.

They probably only lowered the price cos its broken left over stock. ebuyers customer service and quality leave allot to be desired.
