100 Extra Long Life batteries (either AA or AAA) only £14.99 - works out at approx 15p per battery. This is about 1/3 or 1/4 of the price of Duracell Plus (roughly equivalent according to Which?).

Come in a cardboard box and shrink-wrapped in strips of 10.

Available both online and instore (£2.99 delivery charge for orders under £35).

Obviously these are not rechargeable batteries (which are better for the environment) - but there is a large start-up cost associated with rechargeables and £14.99 won't get many such batteries! So please vote on the deal, not on your preference in this regard...

voted cold on enviromental ground. cheap batteries and cheap alcopops are a curse on humanity

Buy rechargeables, especially those that are ready
charged and hold their charge.. It's time we cared more
for the environment and put an additional tax on stuff
like these (and bottled water) but I suppose it keeps
the landfill staff busy.

So rechargeable batteries run forever? They don't require any form of energy to keep them going? Cool!

Of course they use energy but it's negligable compared
with the amount to make all the components for a new battery.
Do you have throw away batteries for your mobile. No, I
thought not.

Do I know you? Or were you just speaking to yourself just then? How do you know whether I even have a mobile?

How do you know how much energy is used to make the components of a new battery?
