It says you need to have your supply go live on or before 30 Nov to qualify for the £100 bonus - which is unlikely now as most switch take few weeks and it's only one left to month end.

£80 quidco still good though :)

The wording is as follows

EDF Energy's £100 Welcome Bonus offer is subject to the customer signing up to the Online [email protected] Version 7 Tariff via http://www.savetodaysavetomorrow.com by 30 November 2010 and the customer's account(s) going live on supply. The customer's account will be automatically credited with a Welcome Bonus of £75 for Electricity and £25 for Gas, within 90 days of the account being live on supply and the credit will appear on their first bill in most cases. Offer available to new EDF Energy customers choosing dual fuel or electricity only before 30 November 2010, and agreeing to pay by monthly Direct Debit.

It's a little ambiguous but I HOPE that it means that you have to sign up by 30/11/10 and that you'll get the bonus after your account goes live on supply (even if that's after 30/11/10 which it will be for anyone signing up from today onwards). Why would EDF continue to promote the deal if there's no chance of eligibility? Fingers crossed, anyway.
#4
just had my paperwork through confirming the cash credit (applied a week ago, not live yet) just says must pay by direct debit and have dual fuel, just got to apply by the 30th
#5
as usual , only for new customers .. no incentive to change for those of us on a different edf tariff.

No you don't, you need to be signed up before 30 November not supplied - terms and conditions here

Hot for me - make sure you go through quidco which also mentions this offer.

WRONG!

The OP is correct - the wording clearly states you only have to choose the deal before 30/11/10 to qualify. Which I did last week - quidco tracked as well.

I did this this morning after recieving my EON bill - should save around £120 per annum on my Elec bill (no gas), and teh sign up bonuses are nice ... you are locked in for 12 months though, but your price is 2% below the regular retail price - but you could get shafted if they bump prices up in the interim. The bonuses for signing should cover this risk though.

Topcashback give £80.80 :p

You are right. However, they also have a price-fix tariff to 31/3/12 which pays £75 bonus + cashback. This might be the better option for the duration - I signed up for it earlier today.

Was going to do it but the daily standing charges are really high. So a good deal if your a heavy user i guess but as i only use £38 (gas & elec combined) a month not really a good deal for me ?
Bloody complicated this energy swapping business :|

£60 penalty for leaving early, still worth it though as if they become uncompetetive just switch - still up by £120.

Signed up earlier today after getting my E on bill. Hot

I'm a light user and this was one of the cheapest tariffs I could find - in the top 3 by comparison sites.

I worked out my annual usage, then put the figures in.

Know what you're saying about the standing charges, but it's still cheaper, bonus for me in that I will be using more with another baby on the way in 6 weeks, so don't have to be too concerned about the extra.

Funny thing for me was the EDF site said I`d save but the uswitch site said it would be more expensive to switch,ARRRGGGGHHH !

I did also but still haven't received my letter. Did you get yours?
#17
I think I am on this tariff. Been a good supplier. Nectar points too. Quidco tracked and paid ok.

they are b***ers - worst customer service ever - good luck if this works out well for you but I personally would need a much bigger incentive to ever use EDF ever again. Won't bore you with the mess they caused for us but suffice to say they are a bunch of incompetents imho.

Thanks

Sorry but disagree, I signed up in april and haven't had any issues. First time I've had my own gas/electric. I have rung them twice (free phone number) and sorted my problems ok. It was a billing issues but managed to get a credit back.
#21
I've gone for the deal, price is pretty close to current supplier but with the £180 back it equates to £15 a month saving. Now where on HUKD can I put that to good use?
#22
HOT from me. This seems a great deal but for what it's worth I have been with British Gas for a while now. British Gas customer service is excellent. I recently asked them to change my tariff from Websaver 8 to Websaver 9 and they emailed me back to say they could do it but that I was better off on Websaver 8 ( which seems to be their best tariff ). Speaks volumes.

Good luck to all of you. I signed up to duel fuel on 14th May 2010 and have only managed to get gas switched across this week...but electric switched straight away back in May. Means I might not get cashback as duel fuel switchover taken so long but not my fault...if I switch back to my previous supplier will cost me £50 so got to grin and bear it and hope the switch in may cashback is favoured???!!! Although must say if they have only just switched gas in November I should get the £100 welcome bonus too? Will be watching this one on watchdog ...
#25
Had a letter off british gas last week saying that they are changing my tarriff, I was on Websaver 4 which was apparently unbeatable but after the 10th of December it ends and i'll automatically switch to the standard tarriff or i have to sign up to their new online saver tarriff which has a contract to boot - not happy as you can imagine.
So i've been looking around for a week or so and trying to decide who to go with, this as it turns out is a very good deal. Not as cheap as i'm paying now, but going forward it's the 2nd cheapest tarriff (by a few pound p/a) behind Scottish Power, but with the bonus and cashback it works out a treat.
Thanks OP.

Has EDF announced price rises yet? I know prices are supposed to be going up and a lot of suppliers are going to follow suit.

EDF have guaranteed no increase before 31/3/2011.... I am loathed to switch to them as I really would prefer to use a British company but like timhill3, my Websaver 4 BG contract is expiring so need to switch and this is the best deal currently.
#28
Im sure i had a mailing from EDF saying that they will no longer be offering Nectar points from December, cant lay my hands on it at the moment but just thought id throw it in here! I swapped from British Gas to EDF over a year ago and not only have my bills halved i have found their customer service fantastic i.m.o.

Just for anyone thinking of going for this that didn't already know - EDF was bought by UK Power Networks recently - whether new management will be a good thing or a bad thing .. we will have to wait and see.

Although you are sort of right, EDF still generate, operate & supply Electricity & Gas, so you do buy your gas & Electric from them, they have only sold their "Distribution Network" which is basically the cables that run under ground and in to your house. Electricity is transported or "distributed" round the country to local sub stations by National Grid PLC from the substations it is distributed to consumers by the areas local distribution company and in the South east this was EDF, they have sold this to CKG a Hong Kong based Chinese company.

Ebico aint too bad on price.... well for gas anyway.
#37
I am in exactly the same boat - cheers for that will go for this.

Does anyone know the exact breakdown on day/night peak/offpeak rates for electricity?

Your bills have halved? What b.g tarriff were you on and what edf tarriff are you on now? Could do with halving my bills!

also if you sign up just for single fuel (electricity) do you or dont you get a "welcome bonus"?
