Wow....sounds great, but is there a capping on the number you can stream if you are only on the £5.99 package?

how good an internet connection do you need for this, coz im on o2 access which isn't that bad, but they do tend to traffic manage it on stuff i actually want.

Anything above 2meg broadband should be enough, you could probably set it to low quality as well.

it's 8meg but it's flakey about the connection speed when streaming things, and it's not really worth it in low quality, i like my stuff HD lol

Sounds great Andy, this is going to get lightning hot....would cost you about £4 to rent a latest release from a video library.

Try glitching on PS Home, that can be more addictive than playing games on your PS3 at times lol.

Here is the streaming list - http://www.lovefilm.com/browse/film/watch-online/subscription/

The big thing to note is there are very few new releases available, and to be honest even the older films on show are a bit naff. However, having 4,004 options at hand at any time is nice - and they should update as they go,

Such a good deal

I tried out the LoveFilm streaming option via my Sony blu-ray. Very underwhelming. Cold from me.

As tinodz mentioned, it's mostly older films. You can pay per view for some new releases, but even then the choice is very limited. Bitrate/quality is similar to iPlayer SD (not HD).

Why are people getting so excited about this?
You can already get this on your PC and its nothing worth writing home about.
I'm on the 9.99 a month package and with that you get 4 hours per month to watch online from a specific selection, none of which are new releases.
I rarely even bother with it.

Also there is no mention of HD. Doubt this will be in streaming in HD for a while. But then again the list is pretty poor with titles that I suppose many of them aren't available in HD anyway
#19
If you look at their packages page the 5.99 package only gives you 2hours online viewing per month lol.

Should have known it sounded too good to be true, capped service..one download view a month, and that's if you find a film under two hours.

Money better spent with a usenet subscription me thinks.

maybe cos most people have a pc with a smallish monitor whereas most PS3s are connected to large screen plasmas

also, its unlimited streaming on £9.99

It it's better than the psn video store it's hot for me, gf wanted to watch Angels and Demons as we'd watched the Da Vinci Code so after searching virgin on-demand, blinkbox etc I ended up paying £8.99 to own an SD version of the film with stereo sound. Ok, lol I'll take that hit as the gf wants it and the video store is closed but it wouldn't play for ages, like 71% I could play 23 mins before buffeting every 30 seconds. Seriously, virgin on demand plays HD content instantly so anything that isn't the pSN video store gets heat from me.

I wish Netflix would hurry up and get to the UK.

Seems a big gap between what is new on their physical dvd/bluray post offerings (good) and the online/streaming offerings (not so good). I'll stick with Sky and Sky player thanks.
