Anyone know what dye they use? Inferior dye will cause unreadable data in the future so it's always clever to get a reputable brand like Ritek.

Maplin says "These have maufacturers code Digital Disc Dessau GMBH." - I've never heard of them.

If you like paying a premium then get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden Dye dvds you really can't go wrong with them, but sometimes it pays to shop around and you may get perfectly good discs for around half the price.
It really does depend what hardware you have though as you will find that discs that someone swears by just will not cut if for other people. I prefer discs with a CMC MAG. AE1 dye and find these HP Reds to be absolutely top notch:

(and lots of other reviewers agree with me!!)

unfortunately you have just missed SVP's 99p shipping weekend though.

These are £4.99 for 25 @ UKDVDR & this is what they say
"Ricoh DVD+R discs are used to design and test all the DVD+R drives on the market due to their reliabilty and suitability for all drives. These discs are superb for high-speed burning with very low error rates and high-stability."

3 x 50 packs will get you free delivery @ Amazon:-D

Why is the Ricoh DVD-R 16x/4.7GB 50pk spindle £25.99:w00t:

Thanks maurice, I've ordered 3 packs:thumbsup::-D

Picked up some of these today, out of curiosity :roll: They only had the +R's.

They are Mr Data branded, not shiny silver as shown in the picture.

They have a (fake) media code of MCC004, but do actually burn pretty well.
