Daft question perhaps - can't you get DC-DC converters to power a laptop from a 12V outlet? I think that would be more efficient, but you probably couldn't get such a device for £9.99...
Used 150watt inverter for our stables as no mains use to run 4 x 20 watt CFL low energy lights was loads more efficient than halogen only drawing 85 watt from battery .Use LED now but they were not any good then was few years ago
Also used 145 watt horse clippers on mine with out any problems most clippers are 70 watt so would think be ok on this one cheaper
than buying cordless or 12v ones for over £200
Be careful with some DC to DC converters some poor quality ones about can damage your laptop

Huh?
I quite fancy going on a camping holiday and using this to polish some trees, or passing wild animals.

You can do whatever you want to, just believe.
My laptop uses less then 60W.
Managed to get 2 x halogen bulbs for £3.60 when everywhere else wanted £4+ for 1.
Just a thought... maybe you could ask a store assistant if you can't find what you are looking for.
example: laptop charger output (20V) * 4,5A = 90W

It would be 90 Watts if the power factor of the supply is 1 (or at unity) which it wont be, so expect a little bit more.
Even a 90watt power pack this will struggle to kick it up as the start up current is to high
