Just seen this on Morrisons Facebook. Spend £30 or more in store and get 10p off a litre of fuel. Collect your coupon before 12th February and redeem by 19th February. Quite a low spend threshold too …

Quite a low spend threshold too as I think it's usually spend £50 to get the coupon. Valid in Wrexham and Guiseley stores apparently

That's hot, on an empty tank this will save most people £5.

Once deals like this appear the other supermarkets usually start to drop their prices. Not by as much but not usually with a shopping caveat though.

with the Morrissons more card this actually works out at 11p a litre as well.

Looks like it's Wrexham store only !!!!

Do they have an Aldi or Lidl opening near the store?
Maybe an attempt to keep shoppers?
A similar thing happened at my local Morries and will probably happen again soon.

Maybe wrong and it may be national?

Unfortunately the £ has dropped by 20% odd since brexit vote so as oil is calculated in $ the price of the fuel at the tank has risen... as has oil price anyway...

thats the reason... theoretically....

Great - thanks - Wrexham is my local store - Aldi just opened next door.

This surely needs updating to show it's store specific. It comes to something when a so-called mod starts posting misleading deals. As if the fake Poundland meal deal that another "mod" posted last week wasn't bad enough.

Apparently it's the Wrexham and Guiseley stores. Aldi opened next to Morrisons about 2/3 weeks ago think this is why have just checked with their Facebook team

New build Aldi practically across the road opened the other week, what a guess!

Is their fuel any good? Reading all the stories about supermarket fuel I'm not sure of want to try

Morries seem to be the main target for both Aldi and Lidl, especially in my area anyway.
I can see one Morries closing soon! Bad enough now with stock control since Aldi opened and when Lidl opens soon, they will be hit hard!
The times, they are a changing.

To be fair if it came up on a newsfeed I would probably have assumed it was a national deal - as I am near Wrexham though thanks for posting.

Just shop at the Aldi - you'll save much more than the small amount on fuel. You can do that in any Aldi/Lidl anywhere in the country too!
#24
Have you altered this deal to only Wrexham and Guiseley stores now? Originally the post was for all Morrison's stores as I did a screen grab and sent it to someone.

For me I work in a freehouse pub, buy a couple of bottles of spirits from there and it's win win

Yes - It came up in my facebook newsfeed then I checked with the Morrisons facebook team who got back to me and said it was Guiseley and Wrexham only - sorry for any confusion.

Aldi just opened in Guiseley on 2nd Feb I live less than a mile away.

Guiseley Morrisons just spent months updating their store (again) and probably spent a small fortune doing so, so they must be getting worried already!
#28
Aldi just opened in Guiseley so I suspect it is a push to claw back some customers.
#29
Probably still cheaper (& better quality fresh produce) to shop in the Aldi next door!

Not in Preston [Blackpool Road]

one thing I always notice about morrisons when they have a deal on fuel. they always put up the price of fuel by 2p a ltr then they give out the 10p off a ltr etc then when the deal is over they drop the price back down 2p a ltr. rip off.

How do you get the car to the petrol station if the tanks empty

Hire a Chinook to airlift it.

That's a long drive for most of us to save a few pounds. Voting cold this time but hoping Morrisons are more generous to the rest of the UK soon.
#38
Judging by the heat for this deal, there must be a load of HUKD members who live in the Wrexham and Guiseley areas !

voting cold as it is a local store specific deal

Either this deal has changed or I was far too asleep to be on HUKD earlier as I went and done my shopping at Morrisons and sulked all the way to the full price diesel
