This is a great offer. Shame it's limited to such a small area - bet that Nisa has people queueing out the door trying to buy 5 curlywurlys or something to get 10p a litre off!

Mega hot for you South Walesers!

was just gutted that I just filled up at the Asda around the corner for £1.17 and odds. theres £50 i'll never see again ;)

I take it there prices are OTT - otherwise they would be selling petrol at cost price - not very good business

Think "Duty" should be replaced with the words "tax" and VAT should be replaced with the words "double tax". That would be more accurate. Over 40% of our income goes on tax, typical rip-off Britain.

I live nowhere near, sadly, but definitely a good deal!

I drove past this the other day. I think it's 10p off a litre per pound - For every pound you spend, you get 10p off one litre. So if you spend £50, you get 10p off per litre for 50 litres - double as good as Tescos. The Tesco around there is 118.9p, so you'd get it at 113.9p per litre.

Looks like you're effectively saving 1p per litre compared to a Tescos shop - and I'd bet that buying a shop at Nisa is going to cost a bit more than Tescos.

Cold :-(

That's what it's looked like for years now, it's just that the taxation is a percentage, thus the rocketing oil prices have increased the tax. Solution? Get oil prices back down and there'd be no issue. You should see the prices other European countries are paying at present, it makes our prices look like a walk in the park !

Yes but 10p off what? 10p of every single litre? or just 10p off one litre?

How many stores have petrol stations? All the stores in my area are just glorified corner shops.
#11
10p off every litre purchased. not just the first.

not sure about the number of stores this is available in..... like the poster above i'd only seend a few smaller stores before this one.
#12
i was in there this morning, I spent £1.50 and when i was at the till the women gave me my receipt, on the bottom of the receipt was a bar code and date stamp. The offer is only valid the same day as purchse in the shop. I filled the car up, handed over my receipt from the supermarket and got 10p of every litre, £5.00 off total price!

Price per litre before offer = 122.9p, after offer was 112.9. Next cheapest place within 10miles is ASDA at 117.9p, so saving 5p per litre on the cheapest place.

it definitely works and is a great deal.

Yes its 10p off every litre and its a shell petrol station , they got a big sign advertising it as its along side the motorway . cant remember though how much a litr it is .

The duty element of fuel tax is a fixed amount not a percentage, then you pay the VAT on top of the duty+actual fuel cost.

Brilliant offer but if Nisa can do it so can the likes of Tesco, Asda, Morrisons etc.

Just to clarify for all you people that live nowhere near this place or haven't been here yet. This Nisa store in Cardiff has opended in the last few months (maybe 6-8 weeks ago) so this seems like a promotion to get people in the door and shop there rather than go to the other stores/supermarkets nearby (and may have something to do with another supermarket opening up a new store a few hundred yards up the road too in a month's time)

There is no petrol station in the Nisa store inself, the money off coupon/reciept is valid at the Shell garage next door. And it's for 10p off every litre. Normally that particular Shell garage is a rip-off compared to other local suppliers so this 10p off actually makes it viable to fill up at that Shell garage and makes it cheaper than anywhere locally if you're prepared to take a few minutes out and spend the minimum instore at Nisa next door.

that diagram states petrol is about 70. its nearly double that, hense one can only suggest the supermarkets are taking about 20p a litre not 10p. they'd still make money!

Anyone seen this guy recently?

His name is Ben Scammell

Quite appropriate really. About 2-3 years ago he conned 0.5million people (according to his own figures) into signing up to some discount card promising 5p-7p off every litre of fuel purchased.

Still waiting...

I occasionally go to it and it actually opened before Christmas.
Doubt it is a national promotion as Nisa are all independently owned and the person/family who owns this store own the shell petrol station next to it.
You are right about them probably wanting people trough the door, it is very quite every time I have been.

To the person who said as it is Nisa it will be more expensive than the big 4 supermarkets - when I visited I have found the prices the same as Tesco/Asda and have some good deals, which was a surprise when the likes of Co-op/Somerfield are dearer. But check you receipts I have found it common to have price errors on the receipt (maybe just my bad luck).
Haven't visited recently so will be checking if they have put their prices up for this promotion.

The promotion originally was 10p off fuel when you spend £50 instore then the spend level seems to have dropped every time I view their advert in the Cardiff Post.
£1 spend level will makes it a definite return visit for me.

What's that passing? It's the band wagon! Seriously, stop reading the Daily Main or whatever rag you read to corrupt your own thinking. Petrol is expensive but certainly not no more expensive that everywhere else.

Also, the average salary in the UK is higher than the rest of europe and therefore anything that you buy is going to cost you more as those higher salaries need to be paid.

I have been looking through some fuel receipts and there is a Nisa store / fuel station in Bridgend.
Its on Cowbridge road next to the College, there is a Nisa store where you go and pay for the fuel, I often call when passing as prices seem competitive, its a Texaco fuel station.

Last called there 3 weeks ago

Diesel - £1.31
Petrol - £1.19

Will check it out tomorrow when I next pass that way

hot from me, just a shame I don't live near there. Cost me a tank of fuel to get there and back to save 10p a litre!
