There's nothing like the clean feeling of a good wet shave and suing razors like these are definitely nothing like that!

Invest in a quality open razor (cut throat) and it will pay for itself over disposable razors/ cartridge razors in no time but last a lifetime plus they are more environmentally friendly and will give you the best and closest shave you could wish for! (and you can guarantee the Mrs will be too chicken to borrow that one for her legs!)

Sounds interesting, I'd hate to add up how much I spent/spend on Gillette razors every year.

Any recommendations re: retailer/brand/model? :)

That bit sold me :D Is there a beginners guide somewhere?

@schizoboy: I paid about £30 (the price of 6 packs of blades) including a leather sharpening strop for mine from an old fashioned Barber shop in my local town.

@admin: its actually quite easy to use one but a guide is her: http://www.gentlemans-shop.com/acatalog/perfect_shave.html

The biggest stumbling block I had was getting the nerve up to try it!

If you have kids though for safety please make sure you have somewhere lockable for storage!
