This is pretty good. Though you can get an Acer for £50 more with 8+ hours battery life on standard battery, better processor, more ram, bigger hdd, but has windows vista preinstalled

I have the NC20, that has about 9hours battery life.

I bought this laptop from Agros eBay clearance (for about £260) a few months ago and have generally been very happy with it. Performance is very good - vastly better than my MSI Wind U100 Netbook, even when I pimped it out with 2GB, a faster wireless card and a much faster HDD. Most noticably it has no issues with playing HD media either on the screen or via HDMI - an Atom just can't cope with that.

The only thing I am not so keen on is the screen. As with 99% of laptops these days, the screen quality is just not what it used to be a year or two ago. Manufacturers really need to concentrate on this rather than getting the lowest possible price. Mind you, the U100 had a great LED backlit unit, so I was a bit spoiled with that.

I have not been too worried about the battery life. As has been mentioned, you tend to get 3hrs on battery. For my needs this is perfectly acceptable - I am not quite sure why everyone is obsessed with getting 8hrs or so on small laptops. I prefer the lightness of a smaller battery and the fact that it doesn't stick out of the back or bottom of the machine.

One last thing is that I upgraded the standard 250GB 5,400rpm HDD with a 500GB Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid drive, and it makes it quite a bit faster for general usage. It was about £95, but a worthwhile investment over a standard 7,200rpm unit if you ask me.

The Acer is a great deal for a 13.3" laptop. If you don't mind the extra size then that is a much better deal, but if you want a 11.6" machine then this is also a very good deal in my opinion.

Yeah forgot this was a 11.6"

Bought one of these a few months ago as an argos/ebay refurb. Looks better in the flesh (or plastic perhaps) than in the photo. Quality construction and finish. V pleased with it - in a different league to the conventional single core atom netbooks. For information, argos retail stores are doing the same computer brand new for home delivery at £299.99.

Looks like a great deal - shame you can't have it without Windows 7 and pay a bit less...
