Looks good deal to me, thanks greyhorse :)

great price for a great magazine..
#3
Great spot, just ordered.
#4
Great mag, well worth £1.25 per issue.
#5
Great deal OP! Heat added.

Thought this would make a great Christmas present for my dad - clicked on 'International Gift Recipients' and the offer is only 25% off. :x

Shame.

Anyone know what the make of fleece is?

I stand corrected, just checked 'local prices' and it still comes up as £15, even though it says 25% off as opposed to 72%. Hurrah! :-D

Good deal for the magazine alone - but just so you don't get disappointed, the fleece is very poor quality... incredibly thin. I know it's "free" but just don't get your hopes up. Ours went straight into the charity shop bag.
#9
The fleece is 'National Georaphic' banded and is mainly green in colour with yellow trim.

I like the offer but don't like putting my card details in sites that look like phishing sites.

Just a one shot year package?

Hot!

It's a McAffee secure listed site ;)

I used ti have a subscription to National Geographic, but would love New Scientist instead (subscription for that is ridiculous!)

Heat added though

Excellent, I'll leave a few crumpled copies of this on my coffee table and people will think I'm a doctor or a dentist :giggle:
#16
Thanks OP!

Just ordered for animal and history mad DD. Bargain with the fleece, even if used for the garden.

Where is your Dad? If in the US, then goto the national geographic.com site and go to the subscription page that way - it's only $15 then!!

Don't forget that if you have any Tesco Clubcard vouchers laying around you can subscribe for £8 using Clubcard deals (No fleese though!). Voted hot for this deal anyway as it's a great price.

Anyone know what the make of fleece is?

The fleece is a no name brand from China - mine was shipped direct from China - and the one-size-fits-all is based on the size of the average Chinese child. You need to be petite female and no bigger than a size 8 to wear this and no size 8 petite female would be seen dead in it. It's thin and stinks of chemicals. Mine's been hanging in the garage for 3 moths and the smell still lingers.

However, there is good news. 'Phone the NG help line and explain that the fleece is to small to fit anyone you know and they will apologise and offer to extend your subscription by 3 months - well, that's what the did for me.:)

Wow, that's a bargain. Agree about the very dodgy looking URL though. [edit] Thanks for the tip Cibarious.

Excellent mag and offer, although I may go down the Tesco club card route tho for cheaper. H+R added!

Just out of interests, does anyone know what the NG for kids is like as I like my children to take interests in other areas. From what I read from some reviews, it's not that good and full of adverts.
#25
Hey guys. I don't have a credit card as i don't trust myself with one. Is there any way to pay by debit card? Do they give you other options if you sign up by phone?

Thanks

I subscribed using the Tesco Clubcard deal and they sent me the fleece.

Good deal nice to see it again as there was a deal the same as this earlier in the year. I ordered it then and have enjoyed the magazine since. I did have to wait nearly 2 months for the first copy and over 3 months for the fleece which was sent direct from China but for £15 I shouldn't complain.

If you are a reader of NG, you could always order this and then buy 2 or 3 issues at cover price. You'd pay £22.98 for 14 months or £26.97 for 15 months, that's £1.64 or £1.80 a month respectively. Compared to a cover price of £3.99 that's still a bargain

like many dont be expecting much of the fleece , would ony wear for gardening at only in th back garden were no-one ould see you - terrrible poor quality very thin - still a good deal forthe mags heat added
#34
Many thanks for this...heat added.NG ordered with the wife's crimbo pressie!!
#35
This is a fascinating magazine, most issues have some awesome articles and stunning photography. I've been subscribing for a couple of years now and it really is a bargain at this price. I got a fleece with my last year's renewal and to echo what others have said - if it's the same one they are doing now, it's pretty cheap and is shipped from China. But it does the job fine for gardening or down the garage.

H&R.... Cheers!

Daughter gets ng kids and she loves it very interesting and informative
Much better than some of the other mags for that sort of age group
#37
thanks for the info louloublue, anyone else think NG for kids is good? Would like to buy a copy first to see if its worth subscribing as well
#38
Two questions:

Compared to Time magazine whats this like? Ive read Time magazine before but didnt like it, hope this is more of my cup of tea.

Also whats the National Geographic Adventure Magazine like as its even cheaper?

Very bizarre that senior management knows about this quality and have done nothing about it. How can a shoddy quality fleece sells the image of the quality magazine!
#40
Thanks for the info on the fleece, I think I'll use my clubcard for this deal.
Voted hot.
