Just seen this email from Quidco. Its a quidco exclusive apparently and they are offering £115 cashback on a 12 month, £15 per month, sim only deal. So once quidco pays out, the £115 the contract is effectively £15 p/m * 12mth = £180 - £115 quidco = £65 / 12mths = £5.42 per month for 300 minutes, Unlimited texts, and half a Gig (500mb) of Internet. I know people have stated about not getting their cashback but it seems Quidco have got their act together as this deal went live today. I think this is a pretty stonking deal.

Would this be ok for iphone (3GS) does anyone know?

Seems good to me - I got the £100 cashback O2 deal that many took on here last year and it's expiring around now - after a 20 minute cancellation call to o2 they offered me an "upgrade" - to *exactly* the deal I am on!

I might give this a go, I need the internet part but not bothered if it's 500mb or 1gb or whatever as I use nowhere near 500mb.

Hot from me in any case!

I dont see why not, if it is the iphone 3, 3g or 3gs then it should be fine. Or if its the iphone 4 then u could cut the sim down and I think it would work fine but im not 100% on this though. Im sure someone on here will know for sure. :)

This is a FANTASTIC deal if your quite happy to ditch/change number at 12 months or want it as a dongle/tether device even!

you cant include quidco in the deal. not everyone uses it, and its never guaranteed.

Couldn't you take your number elsewhere in 12 months?

Ah apart from iphone or Blackberry deals, what about Android device?

I was told last time a deal like this was on that the Iphone sim will work perfectly in any 3g phone.
#10
When I took my contract out on 3, they told me it was a Blackberry sim and a Blackberry exclusive, and that I could use the sim in another phone but the extra 2gb of data I get a month couldnt be used. Ive been tethering that extra 2gb with my Iphone 3g for 4 months. ;)

Try ticking the rather convenient box on the left that says "12 month plans" and Bob's your uncle...
You can also get an iphone sim or free bb addon for 15 quid too.

Cold, Giffgaff beats this by a mile especially if you have a smartphone. Truly (yes really!) unlimited texts and data on Giffgaff.

Only limits are you cant use the sim for commercial use (spamming) or tethering to a PC.

Other than that.... knock yourself out streaming TV or whatever over 3g,

Get one two referrals a month and it wont even cost you a penny.

Does anyone have any experience of quidco and Vodafone? I mean do they usually pay out? Very hot IMO if they do. Might go for this.
#16
To OP:

Surely the deal as mentioned by OP is only for a person with Blackberry or IPhone! For all other sim only deals, no MOBILE INTERNET.

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. I like the deal but I am not a Blackberry or IPhone user.

I got this deal when it was £90 cash back in July last year. It didn't track, but after I raised a query with Quidco it finally got paid in January. Apparently a lot of people were having problems with Vodafone's cash back at about that time

I'm on GiffGaff and unfortunately have to leave them. o2 have the worst 3G signal out of all the providers and, for me, and many others they are unusable. £10 a month isn't warranted as I can't get 3G signals unless I travel about 25 miles..

Looks like it's back to Three :(

Sorry to hear that, ironically for me in the South East O2 has always been the best for 2G and 3G, even in remote parts of Cornwall on holiday I tend to get a signal when other members of my family have their phones fall over.

So far I love giffgaff, its actually made me use my Android phone differently and for far more things now I know data usage is no longer an issue. :)

So the attraction of giffgaff is unlimited data? Is that it or anything else..?

Been waiting 12 months for my Voda cashback... submitted 2 queries and still waiting!

Reasonable amount of minutes, though to be fair other deals will probably offer you more for similar cash.

The attractions:

Truly unlimited texts for non commercial use (they don't want companies text spamming thousands of people, nuff said.)

Truly unlimited data (as long as you dont connect your phone to a PC to get the net on your PC.... reasonable also)

Free and unlimited calls to other giffgaff users as long as you topup once every 3 months... yes, 3 months!

0800 numbers aren't chargeable, they come out of your free minutes!!

No contract, you don't like, just don't top up and move on... its not even a rolling contract!

Get a mate or family to go on giffgaff and receive £5 credit to your account... some people never pay a penny to be on giffgaff for this reason. Even the person you refer onto Giffgaff gets £5 credit just for registering their sim......

Runs on O2 network. Always found O2 more reliable than any other network.

Have a question or problem? Giffgaff community forums answered a query I had on their forum within 2 minutes of me posting it..... at gone 1am in the morning.

No more issues with worrying about a massive bill if your phone goes mental and downloads huge amounts over 3g..... its free. Let the TV streaming commence.

Get your pac code and simply follow the easy process on your giffgaff acount to port your number over, takes 2 working days.

List goes on and on.... this network is unlike anything else out there. Look on their forums and have a look.

Dont believe the above guys? No worries, carry on with your old network!

You spend 100's of hours on the phone, there might be a better deal out there..... but if you have a smartphone or text a lot.... you wont beat giffgaff.

Jeez guys, if you dont even bother checking out giffgaff you either have an ancient phone or you just dont like "change".

I dont work for giffgaff, nor want any referals, I have just found out what smartphones can really do when you let them on the net *for real* is all.

Anyway, good luck with whatever deal you go with. :)

For people that maybe have better things to do than watch tv on their phone or sit spending hours and hours surfing etc, then 500mb is more than enough a month and will not get anywhere near that amount. 500mb equates to looking at 50,000 web pages btw.
#23
This is great if Quidco actually pays up ! If they dont........................

I got 600 mins, unlim text, 500 meg data and unlimited voda-voda calls on a 12 month sim only deal for £15, with £110 quidco a couple of months back.

Might be the best deal at the moment - but there's been better.

not voting.
#25
Good deal but I received exceptionally poor reception in London (East & North).

3G kept dropping to GPRS / EDGE which meant my BlackBerry was useless.

Switched to O2 and always been on 3G ever since.

Great deal, but I decided to boycott Vodafone after they supported the Mubarak regime in Egypt during the protests.

Is this offer for new Vodafone customers only? My contract is about to expire and I'd like to switch over to this one.

I'm just comign up to the last month of my last quidco inspired Vodafone deal. it was £100 cashback on a 12 month, £20 a month deal (600 mins, 3000 texts, 1gb data) and it's been a pest getting the quidco on it all year.
First off I got £10. Scrapped like hell to get it to £45, and I think the final £55 arrived last month.
It's making me think twice about taking one again - but I suppose they have paid it.

That is weird. I decided to cancel with Vodafone after they scammed taxpayers out of £6 billion.

At least they're consistently immoral ... (_;)

that doesnt matter, you can use the bb sim in any old phone.
The problem i have with giffgaff is that you are not bound into a contract so they can change whatever they want at anytime - if they also throw it down to 500mb like most providers, you have had it.
And the unltd net they have wont be lasting long at this rate as o2 will be wanting money to accomodate giffgaff users' bandwith hunger.
Ofcourse, good deal as long as its going but the fact they can change whatever whenever puts me off.

Quidco sucks! More hastle than its worth......

Things dont track and it takes ages to get money back (if ever)

I cant recommend Quidco as in my experience it sucks ass!
#35
Quidco is ace, I have saved over £2,000 from it and if it doesn't track you can submit a claim for missing cashback. As long as you clear your cookies the cashback usually tracks.
banned#36
Never had any major problems with Quidco that could not be resolved. £1605 cashback to date. Did have a problem with CIS £75 cashback but Quidco paid me out of their own funds. Used Quidco for a Vodafone deal (£50 cashback) on Sunday and it tracked almost immediately. Tracked initially at &15 so we will see how it works out.

Exactly... they change the offer, you move, because you're not bound in...

Problem?

And that is the reason why cashback is not allowed here. The cost is 180 pounds, maybe 65 after cashback if you lucky. But it most certainly is not 5.42.

can I just ask a question about Giffgaff. A few posts up it says no tethering, but how do they know. If I have a jailbroken iPhone and connect it to my laptop with pdanet, can they tell? Obviously I wouldn't go overboard downloading big files, do you think I'd be ok for just general browsing/streaming?
