Is there anyway of seeing what books you can lend before taking out the subscription?

is this more than comes with Prime?

All you get with prime is one lender's library title and one kindle first (selection of I think it's 6 amazon-published books) book per month. This gives you unlimited access to a huge proportion (admittedly not all of) the entire kindle library.

Go to Amazon in books enter 'kindle unlimited' it will display the books you can access, you won't get the latest / blockbusters but some good read, not sure if worth it for me.

Alternatively save yourself £64.24 and join a library for free. How quickly do people read books?

Probably a reasonable deal for voracious readers doing a book a week. My reading time is limited to the bog and on holiday. And I don't spend nearly enough time doing either!

An alternative method to see all the ebooks included in Kindle Unlimited:
If you browse through Amazon's navigation down to "Kindle Books", then check the checkbox in the left-hand menu that says "Kindle Unlimited Eligible", that enables you to explore all the left-hand categories and sub-categories, and see only those books that are included in the Kindle Unlimited programme...

Same here, nothing worth £60 a year for me...

Well, it works out at £1.23 a week so it doesn't take many books to pay back, as long as the kind of thing you like reading is included.

Just as a for instance, the Harry Potter series is on Unlimited, and each of the 7 books would be £5.99 otherwise...

I admit that it's very "patchy" in coverage, but it's definitely worth at least a look if you're a bookworm (and not just in the Fiction category - non-fiction stuff tends to be less discounted on Kindle, I've found, so it takes relatively fewer books to be worthwhile)

Of course, if you're not much of a reader, then it will be irrelevant at any price!

I read a lot of sci fi so kindle unlimited is a great deal for me.
Op may want to add in the description that 6 months is available for £35.96 (for those that don't want/need 12 months)
