iPhone 4 Micro SIM - I guess can be used with an adaptor in any phone.
SIM card cost: £5
Internet - 12 months free internet worth £40 when bought with £10 top-up
Quidco £5 apparently.

Not good for calls: just 100 minutes for £10 monthly topup; 20p/min otherwise.

Usual T-mobile Data fair use policy

You can browse and email as much as you want.

There is a 500MB allowance for streaming videos and uploading and downloading files. If you hit this limit during the month, you won't be able to do this stuff again until the next month.

£10 IF PURCHASED INSTORE

- Pitbikeboy

They seem to have changed the address. The new one is t-mobile.co.uk/sho…im/

Also, I don't remember this: "Please note that the 12 months free internet is for the iPhone 4 only and is not available for the iPad or any other device." I think they can't know what device you are using though.

there is another cheaper way of getting free mobile internet.

Get a t-mobile pulse mini for £19.99+ £10 top-up, you will get free 6 months mobile internet.

Go via Quidco/topcashback for £5 pounds

Sell the phone on ebay for £30 (that's the current rate on ebay)

You will end up with £5 from quidco, £10 top-up and free 6 months mobile internet. All free of charge

If top-up is showing on your account then just send this text:

FREE 12 MONTH WEB to 441

(keep in mind that there are spaces in between words)

If this fails, try again in some time. If there is no response - wait for the response as the confirmation text takes some time to arrive.

Give this a few tries and it should work.

Also, if this a new sim (with no top up), you can just top-up by £5 to 'activate' it and send the text.

    Good luck!

If so, I shouldnt need to use an adapter to make the sim standard sized!Cheers

    Sorry, off-topic, but...
can you give me hints on unlocking mifi? I'd like to do that too.

I am pretty sure you can. I have tried it before. Just need to change the default APN to APN setting for mobile broadband simcard then you are good to go.

500mb is very little for video streaming. Once you exceed the limit, you won't be able to stream any video, but you will still be able to browse most website. In my case, i could still stream BBC Live news on ipad app although i have exceeded the limit. Not other video streaming site e.g. youtube though

I did that with t-mobile free 6 months mobile internet PAYG sim card that comes with PAYG phone

Anyone know of a suitable dongle and/or SIM adaptor for those of not able to afford iPads?
  21. tlc1992's avatar
Would this be like the old O2 ones where they definately had to be used in an iphone. Would they cancel the data the same as O2 if they found out?
  22. McPhee87's avatar
I'm not sure you're allowed to use this as Mobile Broadband, i.e. with an iPad, MiFi, Laptop etc. These days there's usually a stipulation that it's for mobile phone use only

What does 500mb represent in browsing terms?

If I don't download/stream/YouTube, will I last a month with just normal browsing?

easily. for browsing and emails 500mb is plenty

streaming a normal (not high def) video will give you about 1 1/2 hours ( very roughly )

I am no expert in these things. But heard lots of stories about T-Mobile capping 3G internet speed on those sims with phone call function. Might be better to get a mobile broadband sim if you need the faster speed

    hamodah,
I got a few pretty decent free adapters from o2 shop last year when iphone4 launched. Said I am sim only user and bought my iphone from apple store they gave me straight away. Never had any problem with the adapters in many many devices.
  36. aarste's avatar
Yep, T-Mobile's 3G only max out at 0.35mbps on my Sim Only 10 plan with Internet booster, quite disappointed with that.

There what I use in my iPad 2, never lost signal. When I used the mifi dongle used to drop out quite a bit.

Yep, been using 3 in my iPad since last year and it's been great. Works a lot better streaming radio in my car than my iPhone which is on O2
