I've just renewed my bike insurance this year and by switching to Bennetts, i've gone from a £200 renewal to £79 with £20 back via quidco.
Now I know with insurance this isnt going to benefit everyone, but to give you an idea, I ride a CBR 600F Sport, 2002, 3 years NCB, had my licence for 6 years and it's clean.

Here's the blurb from the site, please go gentle on me lol ;)

Bennetts offers three months free* insurance to beat the credit crunch

As the nation starts 2009 in the grip of the credit crunch, Bennetts is coming to the aid of bikers across the country with a unique offer. From 15th January, the UKs number one for bike insurance** is offering anyone who takes out a Bennetts insurance policy twelve months cover for the price of nine (subject to terms and conditions*), saving bikers 25% on their basic premium.

At a time when Brits are tightening their purse strings and looking to save money, Bennetts are providing bikers with some much needed relief. There has never been a better reason to ride a bike, especially after recent research revealed it costs a staggering 47% more to drive a car to work than ride a motorbike***.

Paul Galligan, Director at Bennetts says, "We want to give bikers a reason to get excited about getting on their bikes in the New Year. The twelve months for the price of nine offer will hopefully help relieve some of the financial strain for UK bikers and who knows, it may even tempt others to think about switching from four wheels to two in a bid to save money."

Available for just over six weeks, take advantage of the offer by calling 0800 975 9161 or log on to http://www.bennetts.co.uk/12for9 for more information.

Good for new customers but for those already with Bennetts, find the best online quote ring Bennetts and they will price match and then some. eg BMW R1100 RT £186 FC renewal down to £97, done this for 3yrs now.

No cashback on renewals.

Quidco £20.
Topcashback £25

A good site to check on for comparison is http://www.thebikeinsurer.com/ if you are an existing customer and want to get them to price match a good deal.

Forgot to add that both my renewal quote with Westhill and the new policy with Bennetts are both TPFT.

I have just run a quote and mine cost £184 back in June and this returned £174 less quidco.
Not the big saving you have but I guess its another few quid...
For comparison, I have a 2003 998cc R1, licence for over 10 years, no claims, 1 speeding = 3 points, cat3 alarm and garaged.
Not enough of a saving for me to cancel my current but looks okay...

I got quotes from Bennetts when the Quidco cashbacks were higher - and some quotes were so low that it paid me to take out the insurance.

Seems a good deal at first glance, but Bennets are always shed loads dearer than my usual insurer Carol Nash, and Carol Nash throw in breakdown cover inclusive of their price.
I will get a quote off Bennets when i renew my insurance, but i'm not expecting to make any savings.

There's a deal here?

Voted hot for the photo. ;)

This is awesome
I've been wanting to get insured on a 125cc Honda Varadera but it'd be £500 wit me being 19.

I've been with Carole Nash for years, always had a great level of service so I won't be switching.

I got rid of my bike last year, but for quite a few years I have used
http://www.hrinsurance.co.uk/

They always gave me the cheapest deal (especially after I had one bike stolen), but more recently I found some other places cheaper using comparison sites / quidco etc. But I stuck with them because they will price match (excuding the quidco) Also I didnt have to keep filling in details,
They also had a great phone service, they have a no waiting phone policy.

Anyway I reckon its worth calling a broker like H&R after you find your cheapest quote.

I was with Carol Nash, they made several mistakes in the policy, told me I was wrong and they did not do bussiness cover on the policy I took out and said they would check the phone call recordings. They were wrong, no apology but they issued the policy with business cover.
On renewal it went back to no business cover and other mistakes from the previous year. I gave up and went with Bennets last April. £70 and got £20 cash back for a Triumph Sprint ST 3rd p T&T.
Much better than the £180 Carol Nash wanted so I'd give it a go if I were you, you may be surprised. I know a lot of people like Carol Nash but I for one won't go near them again as I could not trust their people to get the quote and details right even though I gave the right information then on claiming god knows what would happen.
Thankfully I never had to do that.

I used to be with H&R, switched to A Plan last year as I got fully comp + leathers/helmet cover etc... for the same as 3rd party F&T with H&R. Bennets have never given me a good quote. I have a CBR600 F, bike is alarmed and garaged. When the renewal is due in June I'll check Bennets again. ta.

Carol Nash are the biggest and most used motorcycle insurance company. They consistantly get the best ratings in 'Ride' magazine and other bike press.
I've used them for years and they've always been excellent. On the rare occasions that I have found a slightly cheaper quote, they will always match it.... and their inclusive breakdown service is better than any service i've had from RAC or AA.

You'd think these companies would offer existing customers a better deal, but as most people don't ,as yet, question renewal figures they just rake it (£'s) in; your loyalty costs you.
#17
YZF R1, 40 years old, no accidents, 9+ yrs ncd, garaged, datatool alarm, datatag etc etc. £170 but £600 compulsory excess + £400 voluntary  Cold from me.
#18
you would have to watch this ncb as a lot of companies if u have only had 9mths cover wont give you the ncb.....
therefore, you would be stuck with Bennetts... for instance.....

sounds like a good deal but, not so good when u know that.

Ive always found H&R Insurance to be really good, excellant customer services too....

you can get them on their website as above or phone them on 08451302800 or 01224848100 if you want to use your free bundle off ur mobile phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

happy riding...

eBike came out much less (with quidco on top) for my wife's 3 bikes with Carole Nash, tried to up price of new bike by £200 over quoted amount. Told them to take a hike. No way to treat a loyal customer IMO. I'm with HD ins, need to find someone who does agreed value as they are getting very expensive!
#20
Hot from me ..My little scooter is only £84 a year , paid £150 last time
#21
I just run through a quote £94, fully comp for a '86 Glodwing 1200.
#22
R1 here as well - datatool+datatag. Plus a second bike, 650cc big single just Datatag. Both 10 years old.
Fully comp, 9+years NCD, rural postcode, garaged, old git. Protected NCD £300 compulsory excess, zero voluntary xs. No points (anymore)

£114 so not bad at all. Awaiting Carol Nash renewal in a couple of weeks so good timing.
#23

Just make sure you use one of the comparison sites before going with this. Other insurers do Quidco as well
Ebike(£40), Devitts(£30), and Swinton (£35)

My bike has been off the road for 1 1/2 years so looking to insure my bike so i don't lose my 3 years no claims.
Last insurane £150 CBR 400RR no accidents no convictions - Quote from Bennetts £64 for the year third party £150 excess. and £20 quidco. Voted HOT

Glad this has been useful for a few others. Like I said, it's not a black and white deal like most on here as insurance is always going to differ in cost for different circumstances.

Still cant believe i've got 12 months insurance and can ride other bikes on it for £59 quid.. Quidco tracked and validated a couple of hours after as well :-D
#29
Just tried Carol Nash for my sons insurance. He has just taken out new insurance for £215 and Carol Nash is quoting £586, was worth a try, thanks anyway.
#30
I obtained a quote after this deal was posted but it was quite high so didn't take it - Quidco tracked the same day!
#31
Hubby too this out last week, Quidco has not tracked yet and the policy arrived this morning although the policy start date is end Feb. After consideration he decided it wasn't really comparable with his existing insurer and so asked to cancel it...£30 charge and not even live yet....so much for DSR as it seems they CAN charge an admin fee....watch out for this.
Very unhappy with Bennetts, only insurer I know who charges.
