12 months renewal subscription xbox live gold for £23.99 from Xbox Dashboard

£23.99 @ xbox.com
Hi, my dashboard is showing 40% off 12 months xbox live. It costs £23.99 and you can cancel at any time. I think it's for existing gold members only.

Well my dashboard isn't

Are you a Gold member? I think it only applies to them.

I have so far resisted the "cheap" Live deals as it involve lodging my card details with Microsoft. I believe they tend to renew expired membership automatically using the details if Live membership ever lapses.

Currently £30 for a year from Amazon which would be my preferred renewal method.

No not currently, that would be why its not showing then!
#5
dont see it on my dash board, i currently am a gold member and my gold is due to expire in 20 days
#6
It shows on my dash and mine is due Tuesday. I'm peeved off because I've got a £30 one from Amazon in the post :(
#7
Showing £39.99 for me.
#8
Does the amazon one have an expiry date on it? I don't think they do... also I think you can 'stack' upto 36 months on to your account if it does have an expiry date, maybe someone else can confirm
#9
It does stack yes and you can cancel the renewal online.

With the new dashboard you can now avoid that. A message pops up saying something along the lines of "Your Xbox Live Gold Membership is due to expire shortly, do you wish to automatically renew?" It then gives you an option to say no.

This is a great deal as mine is due early next month!

XB Live gave me the same option to say yes or no to auto renewal and I chose no too. Upon checking my Xbox account via xbox.com or whatever, auto renewal was in fact still on and I had to phone up to turn it off.

I just deleted my card details when I purchased live before. Not had a problem with Microsoft in fairness!

Thats what i would do if i was that worried (_;)

I've flipped and flopped between subscribing on the console and through prepaid cards for the last 5 years, and not once has it been an issue to remove my card details and cancel auto-renewal. 2-minute phone call, never been a problem.

I wish we could have a permanent thread for this.

THESE DEALS ARE USER SPECIFIC.

They do not apply to everyone. You'll only get this offer if you're not currently on a deal. It also depends when your renewal is due.

So, for the zillionth time, this isn't a deal.

Totally agree, although it is a deal just for the user, just like people who post phone retention 'deals' so while credit to whoever can get it, its not really a deal for the masses

X box gold due to expire next month, yes 39.99 on there for me too. Auto renewal is not on and it doesn't look like there is a way to switch on either for me ? So hot deal if you get offered it. Is there anywhere you can ring to ask for it?

Yeah same, no offer for me :(

These are simply ads targeted to specific users, my Mrs has a silver account and gets offered these deals constantly - I'm not posting them because they only apply to people who fit a certain criteria.
#25
where is the offer actually meant to appear. mine expires next month, and i dont see it. MS already have my CC though, but with autorenew off.
#26
Erm, I'm getting an ad for £16 off... a TWO YEAR subscription. Which is £63.98, a 20% saving. Are people seeing the £16 off thing and getting confused? Or are different people simply getting different offers..?

my dash is showing 32 quid im a gold member

I've been reading about the deals on here and never seen any of the deals in the spotlight section of my dashboard until last night....

The £26.99 for 12months plus 2 x FREE XBL games came up for the first time on my dashboard yesterday....on the same day my current XBL expired interestingly....
#29
In our house we both have XBL and our memberships expire on the same day. OH got nothing, I got £16 off if you sign up for two years making it £32 a year.
#30
£23.99 for me, and snapped up.

Hot. If you can't see it, I'd recommend ringing up and hopefully getting a nice person on the other end of the line.
I believe the number is:
0800 587 1102 (Landline)
or 44 20 7365 9792 (Mobile)
But check here (Ironically, I can't seem to find the number on the website!

Incorrect, only in the US you can cancel online, here in the UK you have to ring up Xbox Billing Support which is one hell of a hassle when trying to tell an indian that hardly speaks english your info.

You get deals like this if you tick certain "boxes" with Microsoft. For example if you've had gold for 2 years not been banned etc then you can get it down to £23.99. User specific not for everyone.

I'm getting the two years for £64 deal (which isnt that good a deal) cos I signed up to the £23 offer around November. As a few others said these are user specific deals.
