12 Pack of AA Eveready Ultra+ batteries for 10p @ Superdrug - possibly in-store only

First post and in a rush to show the bargain, so forgive any "schoolboy errors"! I rushed to my local Superdrug this morning after the 24 pack deal was posted here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/ite…

First post and in a rush to show the bargain, so forgive any "schoolboy errors"!

I rushed to my local Superdrug this morning after the 24 pack deal was posted here:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/327028/24-pack-of-aa-batteries-for-99p-in-/

Unfortunatly my store didn't stock them (maybe it's just larger stores). The lady went into the back to look for them and came back with a 12 pack. It's actually an 8 pack with " 4 extra free" They are in date as they don't run out till 2015.

I told her they were not the ones but she said she'd scan them and they priced up at 10p!!!!!!!!

The batteries were not on display so you may have to ask if they have them in the back. They may be store specific but someone mentioned them being priced at 10p on the website but were out of stock. The lady stated old stock is just kept in the back so hence this may be why it shows as out of stock online.

I bought EVERY packet they had, so if you live in Telford, don't bother going to the Town Centre store as they don't have any ;-)

Ok, so i could have worded it a little more tactfully such as " The Telford Centre store had limited stock and has run out" so i apologise for winking that i had cleared the store out of the 5 packs they had.

But to blow up that line and then vote cold because of it is a little childish. The deal is a good find, no matter what you think of me personally

I always thought you vote on the deal, not what the origional poster wrote :geek:

I see this is 12 batteries , rather than the 24 I quoted from Daily Mail, so on that basis, not a duplicate. Sorry, OP!

I always thought you vote on the deal, not what the origional poster wrote :geek:

and how many stores do you think this will be available in? the op admitted they are old stock and that the shop assistant had to rummage around in the back of the store, so availability of this will be extremely limited.........there are certainly no more in Telford.

On that basis the deal deserves to be lukewarm and no more.

My local store has the bags of chocolate coins for 5p each. They have around 50 bags and I could have bought them all for £2.50 but I didn't.........
#10
It may be limited, I don't know.

But if they scan at 10p in my store, they should scan at 10p in ALL stores. So whether they are on a rack in the store, or you have to ask someone to check (and she was gone literally 30 seconds. I assume they keep their stockrooms in a more ordered state than my sock draw), for the price it's worth trying isn't it?:?

If you go in to the store and ask, and find they don't have any then you always have Catweazle's 24 pack deal to fall back on:thumbsup:
#11
I popped into my local store to see if the 24 packs were available (they weren't) and seen a few of these packs on display for 99p, Hmmm now should I go back and get them, TBH I don't really need anymore batteries.

I've yet to find a single recently advertised deal at my local SD

Same here!

Not surprising when greedy b*****s get there first and buy them all.

Greedy? They're just being careful with their money surely.

Same here - no sonic toothbrush or batteries in both my local SD's!

It's not like there were 100 packets of them and i bought them all. That I admit would be out of order. There were 5 packets. So I was supposed to think "I must only buy 1 packet and then leave the other 4 behind and then go back home to my PC and post that there are 4 left in my local branch"?

Of course everyone else would do that:-D

I have a digital camera that sucks the life out of batteries something cronic. These batteries will keep me going for a while at least

And as not not being advertised, that is the point. This 10p deal is NOT advertised hence why you need to look for them or ask for them:thumbsup:
#17
Is you employer roger hargreeves by any chance??? Mr rush ;-)
#18
Voting hot because it's a good deal if you can find some :)

(I'm yet to get a Superdrug bargain, but it doesn't make me resent the ones of you that do get them!!!! - even if you do buy all 5 packs ;-):-D LOL !!)
#19
Voting cold cause I live in telford and buying every pack they had is just greedy

Time for lunch will go have a look. Be happy with either the 10p or 99p deal to be honest.

Nothing to worry about Waterboy, some people just live for bitching on these forums. Well done for bagging the bargain, if I had been in your shoes I would have bought the lot even if there had been 100 packs. I am jealous you got those at such a good price as I get throgh batteries like anything but I am adding heat not negative comments

To the perpetual moaners - shame on you carrying on like this on someones first post.
#23
Well said Tightmartin

Heat added for the deal, and rep to you and the OP!

That's just sour grapes.

OP was lucky that the staff hadn't kept them all for themselves.

If theres any in the shop I am going to after work then I will be buying £1.00 worth at least.

Voted hot.

Don't buy all the stock from Lancaster - PLEASE!

Hot deal, and the way people are blowing up at the OP for having the nerve to buy 5 packs for 50p is just plain pathetic... unfortunately it is kind of typical of the way that the input on some threads on this forum is going :?

Nothing in Eastcheap EC4 Branch apart from buy 4 pack of 4 get one free £2.99
#27
I'd have bought all 5 packs too -Kids toys always need batteries!

I'm not off to superdrug to find out - but I appreciate OP's effort in posting. I am going to vote HOT - as if I were out shopping I would definately go and check it out.
#28
Don't go to Crossgates branch in Leeds, my hubby cleared the last 9 packs, although he donated 2 packs to a lady who'd mised out.

Great deal!!!! Our kids have so many toys that need batteries so really chuffed!!
#29
I bought the last 2 packs at my local branch (the lady at the till was quite bemused when I asked her the price and she scanned them in to find they were 10p!).

I see no problem with buying all of something. If its to sell on, then yes, its greedy, but personal use is fine.

They also had packs of 4 that go through the till as something like £1.59!

I wouldn't have done, I have no need for so many batteries

Unfortunately I went down to buy two packs (one for my work colleague) and had no joy finding either these or the 24 for 99p batteries.

The cheapest I found were the pack of 8 for £2.99 which someone else mentioned above.
#31
Well done nice deal and five packs is five packs and isnt being too greedy. I would have bought 5 of them as well for that price.
People are so judgemental on this site, just ignore them heat added.
#32
Thanks just picked up some packs from Woking store - I did not buy all of them!!!

Bargain Thank you! - girl did not blink an eye re the price!

Saved me the trip then, might not have been able to resist the temptation to pop into Gamestation with all those reductions! cheers :-D

PHEW!!!! I thought that it might have just been my store for a while. It's good to see that other people found this gem of a deal at their stores also:)

As callum states, if buying 20 sets or so then it's pretty certain that you're going to flog them on (which is personal choice anyway) but if like me you bought a few sets even if they were all the stock they had, then I fail to see why it's doing anything wrong:?

I bought 5 packs. I have several remotes, I have given a pack to each of my sisters for their kids toys, and i have a power hungry camera. :whistling:

To those successsful people, well done for finding them and i'm glad i could help. Hopefully those that have seen that it's not a single store deal will go have a sneaky trip to their local store and find some lurking in the storeroom:thumbsup:

none in mine
but cant fault the person for buying 5 packs lol...idve and sure most people wudve done the same-i wouldve if theyd been 20packs lol
