What recession? I live in Sevenoaks. I just believe in prudent spending. I'm glad my wife can see that you don't need flowers to be a good husband, just treat her with love and respect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! :-D

Are M&S Roses better quality than the Tescos range?

This site is all about best deals, I agree with the previous poster, spend £4.00 at Tescos (if no discernible difference) and put the savings towards other gifts.

No need to take umbrage at someone else's opinion. Well done for posting but you don't have to criticise everyone who doesn't agree with you.

You need to find last years thread, I remember a lot of very unhappy people with the quality of roses from M&S.

It may of been on MSE when they ran out of roses they sent any old flowers.

You cant compare roses which you pick up yourself against those delivered. Youve got to expect to pay some more there 'delivered'.

Price works out as £19.08 as M&S take off the 2.5% VAT reduction.
#11
My opinion! i have had roses from m+s before, if you want to lash out on a real top quality bunch of roses then i think they are well worth it, very well presented and lasted about 3 weeks!
But a dozen roses from tesco would also put a smile on my girls face:) so its just up to the individual this one!
Hot for me:thumbsup:

A lot of the cheaper places ran out last year, and I wouldn't expect the £4 Tesco deal to be around on 14 Feb!

Home delivery ONLY TOO .... ****

I have never been impressed with any budget roses from Tesco or Marks and Sparks. I think a single red rose presented nicely and bought from the local florist says enough. Quality, not quantity etc etc. Hot deal if the roses are good though.
#17
I'm curious as to whether these are delivered by a person in a delivery van, or if "delivered" means sent in a box through the mail? They really aren't quite as fresh or impressive if they come in a box, and in that case one would do better to go select a fresh bunch from a grocery store and deliver it yourself.

I have ordered flowers numerous times online and Interflora and Marks are by far the best! Tescos flowers I had delivered were very poor quality, will never use them again!
#21
Bought some last year from M&S and won't be buying from em again they sent em and they arrived pretty much dead....

Rather pay abit extra and get a nice bouquet from local florist!!!!!

valentines day is hardly original - just an excuse to charge twice as much for lower quality goods

anyway flowers always do the trick!!!!!!!!

i am voting this hot. Ordered flowers from tesco last year and they were delivered in a big cardboard box with the flowers all broken up inside

If you spend over £35 on flowers from M&S you can get £5 off by using code 00662079

Heat Added,
I was struggling to get anything arranged so this is best option by far and will arrive when I want them to.

BTW, I called a local florist and they were £45 .....OUCH!;-)

Cheers OP, gone for this as it is cheap for delivered roses. Should get me out of the doghouse for going up to Leicester v Swindon.

Do have reservations though because a few years ago M&S delivered ordinary flowers instead of the roses I ordered since the quality of the roses didn't hold up. She didn't mind but I wasn't happy, to be fair M&S refunded me in full without issue. I'll be happy for a repeat this year :)

Can somebody please confirm how M&S deliver their flowers. i.e. are they really hand-delivered?

Thanks

From memory I think it was a cardboard box with M&S logos etc.
