Pretty good price for the reigning champion at the Oscars. A whole penny cheaper than Amazon, though this will automatically qualify for free delivery. Read More

I suspect the price is a better reflection of the film's watchability than it's Oscar performance - sadly, film awards have a habit of being awarded for all sorts of reasons like political correctness, sentimentality, latest trendy director etc, rather than acting or technical ability.
How many awards did Shawshank Redemption win, despite it featuring in most people's 'best film' lists, and how did Braveheart's awful inaccurate plot beat 'The Usual Suspects' in 1996, if not to help Hollywood feel it's done it's bit for independence and freedom ?
It seems obvious that anything featuring slavery has got the yanks all confused over their history, so better give it an award to show they're really rather nice people - can you imagine Schindler's List not winning anything when it's all about the people behind the whole American movie industry (If you don't know what I mean then look at the tell tale names in every list of film credits) ?
Anyway, cold from me for some or all of the things just mentioned.

Sorry, just heard it was the new Steve McQueen film. Reckoned that if it was anything like The Great Escape then it must be pretty good.
