1200 Microsoft Points @ GAME Instore £4.98

ressoosnowdonressoosnowdon

Popped into my local GAME this evening and saw 1200 MS Points going for £4.98. Pretty good deal, these were sitting alongside the 800 MS Points for £2.98 - an even better deal if you can find it.

Ended up buying 10,000 MS points for £38.78. To put that in perspective, HMV sell 4200 MS points for £34.99.

Just called Surrey Quays branch and the prices for 800 and 1200 points were unchanged.

Even if they are to be abandoned (Which is about time) then I'm sure the MSP will be converted into actual cash in your XBL account.

Why are you saying this like it is fact? I can't see anything more than rumour & hear-say on the internet that this system is going to be abandoned.

I can't remember where this originally surfaced but it has been common knowledge for quite a while. I think it was on gamespot or ign.

It is the packaged ones only as the op has in their picture. You will struggle to find these, but worth a look at this price. The standard cards they have now are not in this offer. This is part of the game sale and not related to the discontinuation of the points.

Microsoft never confirmed that, and even if they were to stop using them, I very much doubt they'd loose their value straight away.

It's not a good thing. XBL games have always been cheaper then PSN Games and the fact that you can get points for a reduced price makes the games better value. A 1200point game is £12 on PSN whereas it is closer to £9.60 on XBL. Do you really want to pay more?

I'd prefer to handle cash rather than points. At least I would know it's worth instead of having to work it out.

wait unless im missing sumate, you chose to buy these at 1200 points for £4.98 instead of 800 points for £2.98? the 800 points are a better deal

Maybe they weren't in stock? ;)

quote from op "these were sitting alongside the 800 MS Points for £2.98" soo yeah

But op has a stack of the 800 points in his photo, so I would guess he probably bought the last of them along with the 1200

Not in Stevenage... where were the points at this price?
    stingersplash
good prices, i usually get them cheap or free through various means, might stock up on points and just not spend them so if the conversion happens ill have lots of cash monies to use after.
