One: Maps are overpriced
two: Save up and buy the 2100 points for £15

Not gone to vote hot nor cold. As the pts you will use this against i.e. the maps is overpriced anyways. 800pts only i would say.

i agree as do many at least cod waw map packs had a zombie map

but this is not to overpriced compared to the 2100 points espically as some parents would buy the 2100 only for the extra 900 points to be wasted by the kids on crap eg themes so gets my heat was just about to post this.

ps i will not be buying the map pack as cant stop playing bad company 2 at the moment

Not worth paying extra if you only want the maps. Near enough £10 is too much though. Holding out for it to go down in price.

Same as guy above, BC2 at the minute so in no salvage to get this. Anybody get the hurrendous joke :)

Agree totally, Ive ordered 2100 from Shopto via digital delivery as i do everynow and again use the points to rent movies etc

Stock is show plenty now,and ive bought and gone through tcb.

im not both about the 2100,ive nothin to spend the other points on

god deal if only want the maps, and cheapest i can find

maps are way to much i will wait for it to be lowered in ms points before i bother, and me too is bad company 2 at moment too, which tbh is miles better than mw2 too (both being different an worth having but bc2 pips it tbh) but this seems to be best price around so hot.
#7
Cold. £8.95 is a rip off when you can get the 2100 points card and save yourself a few quid.

That and the fact that if you actually buy this map pack then you are a complete tool.

I shouldnt even need to explain my reasoning for stating the above, but no doubt I'm gonna get a huge backlash from any stray Infinity Ward / MW2 fanboys on here.

"Before anyone says it... Yes i know you get 2100 for £14.99 but if your after 1200 for the Map Pack on Tues this ticks the boxes"

True if you only want exactly 1200 points, but in the end you're paying more money for the 1200 points. Though it's really up to your own needs, so will vote neither hot nor cold, since the difference in 'price' for the map pack is less than 50p (0.749p per point compared to 0.713p). Since I'm more interested in DLC for Borderlands and Assassins Creed II, I went for the other option. :-)
#9
Any chance of lowering the price will be a long wait. COD4 DLC only went down a year or so after it was released.

you save 39p by purchasing 2100MSP rather than 1200MSP.

£8.56 for 3 new maps + 2 old maps for 1200MSP definitely is a bit much.

Does anyone know how matchmaking will work with the new maps?
Will there be a new game type that will incorporate the new maps?
Hopefully something like the Mythic playlist in HALO 3?

There is the possibility it could be a deal of the week. but we are talking summertime at the earliest for that.

Really just buy a £15 2100 card and get a deal of the week with the left over. There are many superb games that can be had for 800 points.

Buying this is a poor choice.

Not voting either way, but can see why the OP posted it.
#12
I paid £26* for this and have put over 240 hours into the MP so I'll definately be buying the map pack.

This first map pack is about 6-8 weeks overdue. The more map packs they bring out the better. It's what keeps the game fresh.

*cashed in an extra 2 copies at CeX so the game only really cost me £8. :)
#13
£15 is peanut change for me, couldnt care less whether it was spent on a map pack or some steaks. I'll be getting the map pack though.

Buying a 2100 points card @ £14.99 gets you 140 points to the pound.

Buying a 1200 points card @ £8.95 gets you 134 points to the pound.

Voted cold. This is not a 'bargain', it's just convenient. Get the 2100 points and put the spare 900 points away for the next map pack. Simples.

No doubt they will FORCE the 3 new maps and 2 old maps into every playlist, just like World at War did, so it forces the people who actually still play this game to buy the maps.

WOW - no way.
That's quite unfair.

So if u don't buy the new maps, u can't play MW2 online?
Or will the majority of playlists be for the old+new maps & just a few for the old maps?
#17
Im failing to see how this is a better deal then the 2100 points for £14.99??? other than convenience I guess

I mean I know I posted the 2100 points deal so I guess im biassed...I fail to see the logic of paying for less? anywho....regardless its still better then the £4 littlewoods deal being posted on here....dont get me started on littlewoods "voucher deals"

If they take the [email protected] route, you'll be able to join a playlist provided they're not playing the new map but you'll get kicked out once a new map is selected to play.

Or

They'll take CoD:MW option where you can only join a server if you have the map pack and are restricted from joining others (including special playlist servers) if you do not.

I don't see how littlewoods, very, etc... deals are bad.
I've heard many people say that they try to get the voucher money back at some point in the future.
But, what if you don't give your correct phone number?
How will they get in contact with you to ask for the illegitimate voucher money back?

You can choose to do what you want buddy...but if these codes arent meant for you, just be prepared....if you dont give them your details...do you think they wont catch up with you somehow...

wiitard
read my other posts peeps! You CAN get 2100 for £4!

What are the chances!...

I have bought a TV from Very using a voucher and did have the full amount charged and the refunded. So im aware they do honour offers but like many people say "if" there for your use and you have to be careful and some things like MS points for £4?! Im sure they can make small profit gains/losses here and there but to me to sell for £4 sounds ludacris due to the loss.. And when something sounds too good to be true... It usually is

Worth a punt i agree.. But dont eliminate the option you wont end up paying at a later date

they know we will pay this , that being the case this is a good deal for those of us who just want the maps

I mean, the new maps will be implemented in current playlists, so if one of them comes up in the lobby, then you will have to leave and find a new lobby in order to play the normal maps.
#25
If like [email protected], they had a Map Pack hopper, where you could play only them, after a month or 2 they were also included in a number of play lists.

COD4 if you don't have the map pack, it tries to put you in the game, lets you sit in the lobby & get to loading the game b4 it boots you back to the main menu.

I ordered 4200 just the other day & Will be getting the maps asap on 30th :-) Points = HD Movies :-)
#26
It works out that at £8.95 for 1200 points, if you pro rata it to 2100 points it's only 66p more. Big deal. I'd rather pay for 1200 points and keep the extra £6 in my pocket instead of lining Microsoft's on the off chance I might use the left over points in the future.

Just ordered, heat added plus a bonus of 9p cashback with Quidco. The day just keeps getting better!
#27
3 new maps, 2 old ones which most people still have. Epic gave 4 or 5 of there old maps away for free.

IW have said that one of the new maps will be good for FFA, i wonder if its a FFA only map? which would make the deal suck even more.

More importantly actwithoutvision have no authority to release this since they sacked the guys who had control of the call of duty name
#29
Whether the maps are overpriced or not as long as people pay the price they will never come down.

but HD movies on the marketplace are a rip-off.

Surely you would be better off investing in something like a WDTV Live or Acer Revo. :pirate:

#33
The best part of a tenner for a few extra maps, I think I'll pass if I'm honest.
#34

Why have posts been deleted from this thread regarding the very deal?

If it's the only console you're downloading it on, then any profile can use it. If you move it to a different console, only the purchasing profile can use it.

Unless it's come down in price you'll need 1200 for Trials HD and 400 for the big map pack. Well worth it though.

cheers for that
