if anyone knows what the rest of the trade ins are id be very thankful
#2
This really needs a full list of possible games, since depending on them this deal could be scorching or freezing. And I take it you don't mean 'trade in any 8', as that'd be a very poor deal.:p

well i would reckon red dead and medal of honor are worth more. So the older ones, gta iv and world at war i know for sure they would only give me 4quid each for. I have them both.

Left for Dead 1 and Dead rising (if its number 1) are relatively safe bets, as you can pick them up cheaper than a tenner second hand. The other games mentioned aren't worth the hassle!

i personally would only trade in world at war and gta iv. In my local they only advertised this 99p for 1200points with there games as trade in. Perhaps the newer games halo reach medal of honor, etc are ment to be 99p for 2100points. But like i said my local only advertising it as 1200points. Maybe someone can update me tomorrow. As i cant get to a game store again this weekend.

game store is a rip-off well overpriced and full of yes-men trying to sell you crap games. i would never enter that store.
#21
So GAME are giving you about £9.21/£8.00 trade in for these games.
Makes me think there is a GOTY edition of Red Dead due out, hence the low trade price.
#22
and what does that have to do with the deal adam?? Who cares if u can get a deal from time to time

Id say its more a case of Game knowing the mass hysteria the Black Ops map pack will cause next week and is banking on people trading in games under the market value for this "deal". Wouldn't surprise me if they were even the black ops branded points cards.

However, as others have mentioned, an OK deal for 1 or 2 of the games.

What's that got to do with the deal? Considering GTA is worth about £5 right now (i guess), that's probably the best deal.

If it helps anyone, I sold GTA 4 for £11 (before fees) on ebay earlier this month. Not sure if this is more than average.

What I was getting at is that you said that a person could trade in eight games, and pay 99p for 1200 points. Eight games for one set of points? I think you meant any one of eight.:3

Changed now, so no matter.:)

OK so what i said has nothing to do with the deal. but its still not a good deal. i must say game online is slightly better but in-store is terrible and they wont match there online preowned prices. they want silly money in-store still for games pes11 and fifa11 when you can get them anywhere else for about 10-15quid new now. they still want 30. it amazes me they are still in business with the fact that the supermarkets sell new releases for about 5-10quid less than what they do. i remember electronic boutiques ended up having to be taken over by game for rip off prices. they rip women off who tend to know nothing about games telling them that a crap title is a best seller just to shift a few. hopefully game-station will take over game as they aren't quite as bad for prices.

you what? last time you could trade in splinter cell double agent and get it for 99p, double agent was worth like 3 quid at the time. Their asking for decent high priced games this time it seems, red dead, dead rising 2, no chance their worth 6 quid already...

edit: also it isnt dead rising 1, its no.2 , saw the poster when was in town before

Gamestation is a chain of UK retail shops selling used and new video games, and was the second-largest specialist video game retailer in the UK until it was bought out by Game, a group which owns many different gaming stores throughout the UK and Europe. It is fully owned and operated by Game, which bought the chain in 2007

For any trade in's you should always be checking on cex website because Gamestation will beat any of their trade in prices by a pound.

In this instance, the left 4 dead would be a decent deal but all the others, when price matched at Gamestation would cover the points at the very least.

Credit to the op however for taking the time to post.

wow this is the coldest deal I've seen in a long time - vote wise - I think the op has given some examples of how it could be a decent deal but hey no pleasing some
#36
got my vote, will make use of this :) -265

GAME are a rip off, i went to trade 30 games and was offered £66 cash and £90 trade whereas CEX offered £135 cash and £180 trade. Big difference. I only use GAME for preorder as there delivery is excellent and you get the game a day before release.

That's why I always print out Cex's price, take it into Gamestation and ask them to price match. They'll beat the trade-in price by £1 as long as it's not more than the price they sell the game for. I did trade-in at Cex in the beginning but they're a ripoff too. Ended up trading in Heavy Rain for £20 to get a preowned copy of Red Dead Redemption for £38 at Cex

whilst you are 100% correct about the customer misdirection, gamestation and game are all the same group owned by the same people. It depends on who the staff are in what shop that determines how they sell, i can tell you that my local gamestation has more friendy workers but annoy me as they constantly tell you to pre-order and hand you a pen and paper before you speak. On the note of being still in business, i can say that GAME.co.uk is one hell of a website, the things on there are usually £10 cheaper than instore plus there pre-order bonus awards do it for me on top of double reward points for pre-order. That is why they are making money and will keep doing so since the gaming market is growing.
