I wouldn't feel saving storing 128gb worth of photos on 1 card. If u lose it/it corrupts, that's them all gone. If rather buy more smaller ones.

How many photos can u store on 128gb roughly 21,000, which you would probably archive on a back up drive. The card has good storage for video that is the point of it .

At this price I would expect this card to be a fake.

If you go by reviews your expectations on it being fake will be dashed..

... because reviews are hard to fake too, eh?

Sad but true, you get what you pay for.

It's likely legit - the company is known - but using low-grade memory, hence the price.
The controller should deal with it (errors) up to a point...

Nothing wrong with the cards.
I have a 32gb one & use it in my 5d Mk ii with an adaptor & it works perfectly without any fuss or trouble.

I should imagine any self-respecting or serious photographer downloads their photos shortly after taking them. If you're wandering around with thousands of unsaved photos you deem important on your camera... You're a professional numpty.

You would have trouble filling this card in a day.

Makes an iPod Classic SD card mod very tempting indeed.

Most serious photographers have dual-write capability cameras where you can put two cards in (either two SDXCs or one SD and one CF) and it writes to both at the same time in case one fails and/or carry more than one camera. But you're right, in the amateur area, the number of people who take one point-and-shoot and one SD card then cries when they turned it off mid-write and corrupts is astounding (even worse over a two-week break), and a lot of them are the same ones who think a laptop has no place outside the home or office.

But then if you download your photos you dont need 128gb... Fine with 32gb... Can get a much faster card for that capacity too.

I always smile at comments about not using big cards. In 12 month time, we will all be using 128gb cards but saying, i don't trust 512gb cards in case of fail.

Two years time we will worry about 1tb cards but will be fine with 512gb.

I'm not having a pop at anyone as i too don't use these cards incase they fail, I hate the idea of losing all those pictures and movies!

Heat added for a good deal

So on my camera this will hold 4000 shots, Raw and JPEG, thats tooooooo many, apart from the wear on the memory card slot I prefer to use fast 16G cards, and a few of them, in some cases one a day. Yes I do have a laptop, however carrying it around Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia on my last holiday would have been a pain.

This card would be good to consolidate a number of days onto, but still keep two copies.

I've used Kompbay guys loads of times. My macbook is running on their RAM (for 2 years so far, which benchmarks higher than the supplied RAM). These guys are routinely cheap and good quality. I'd have no qualms about buying this.

And for folk worrying about a 'large' SD card failing. I'd never use SD or USB flash to store anything I care about. This is for temporary portability when you're out in the field. Great for music collections for your car stereo.

Hot deal.
