Was after one of these since the compressor at the local garage requires you to sprint round the car like a grand prix pit crew member to inflate all your tyres before demanding you insert another payment. Checked Asdas car section around a week ago and was dissapointed to find the RAC Analogue one still at full price (£10) then when leaving the aisle noticed an end display of digital ones going for £6 so snapped one up. Have tried it out today on the wifes car and must say am very impressed with it for the price I paid, just hope it lasts (manual does say not for longer than 10mins continuous use to avoid overheating)

Its not on the Asda website but Ive linked to a pic of one that looks just like the one I got

Have edited the price to £6, my senile memmory was adding 2 quid to the amount I actually paid

how does this device work set the psi and it pumps air to the psi?
#6
"Tried it on the wife's car" - Better not risk it on your car first lol!!

Very handy to have, if you ever have a slow puncture etc or don't wish to pay to check your tyres or check the tyres when they are warm after driving somewhere to check them!
#7
Will this inflate air beds? Or have I got it completely wrong?

Bingo

You can flick the switch the other way which I believe puts it into manual where it pumps until you flick it back but I never used this I just flicked it to auto where it inflated up to the PSI I had set.

It comes with a seperate adaptor nozzle that should sort out footballs and airbeds but havent really tried or looked at that too closely.

Can I modify this to make that air-gun thing from No Country for Old Men?

.. I'd like to phone ahead first to confirm availability & avoid a wasted journey as both Asda's here never seem to have anything I'm after

LOL. yeah and cos its portable you can take it with you when your speeding on the motorway. that way, if a copper pulls you over... WHAM! he's had it!
#13
Mwa, does this show the pressure in Bar as well as PSI ?
1 Like #14
The instruction sheet mentions being able to change between a few different pressure units including Bar (I think it involves holding down certain buttons on power up) but it comes as PSi by default.

Unfortunately no longer have the receipt to post item number, the brand on the box said Streetwize I think.

Been after one of these.

Shall check my local Asda tonight.

Voted HOT!

i went to Asda clapham junction during my lunch break, no sign of them - only the RAC ones for a tenner.
Maybe store specific, so voted cold as it was a waste of my time
#18
To avoid any further wasted journeys I got mine in Reading Asda , they had loads but that was a week ago.
#19
I've reserved one, cheers OP. Voted hot.

Can this be powered by mains rather than the car cigarette lighter? Also, could i potentially use this to avoid having too buy cans of air dusters?

Car lighter only. Pity cause it would be good to have for airbeds etc.

briliant deal got two for myself and my mate

I use this sometimes the cigarette charger-end plugs into it..not sure it'd be advisable to keep it running for the length of time it takes to fill an airbed

I've been beaten to this info by Joannic but was in Asda (Reading) last night and they still had around 10 on display, the code on the ticket was 502663762054, note the additional 4 at the end compared to Joannics post above in case of any problems

I had been looking for one of these for ages at a good price. I chanced upon it today and was going to post a new deal, but saw that someone had done so already.

Great deal - Voted HOT.

I know this is an old thread now but i thought i would try my luck @ ASDA walsgrave in coventry and they had loads on 24/01/11 !!!. At least 50+ i would say and listed a £6. A great little unit . I hadn't realised just how under inflated my cars tyres were.
#37
Bagged one at Minworth this evening. They didn't have any in the car care aisle, but they were on an nearby aisle end display. Thanks
#38
They still have these in the Newport (Duffryn) ASDA.
#39
haha just had a scare with this, accidently changed the unit measurement without realising and panicked that 3 of my tires had slow punctures
