these will not jump start a completely flat battery - have had one and the one i had was rubbish to be honest.
It needs a battery with some life in it to work - which defeats the object.
And when hubby tried to pump up one of his tyres with it using the cigarette lighter connection - it actually started smoking ( excuse the pun ) we had to quickly unplug it and we threw the thing in the bin .

I have the AC690 Power Station from Tesco, it is different to the one from Maplins ( and other places) which is often on sale at £20.

It does NOT have a compressor.

It is wider but slightly thinner and weighs more than the Maplin one.

The dials on the front are in a different arrangement.

At that price, astronomers are likely to snap them up to power their telescope mounts from the 12v outlet.

Yes ,these things are great to have about the car or home for that matter, if you are stuck anywhere the ciggy socket on the side will charge up anything you would normally charge in the car ,like a satnav or mobile phone , so there good to have in case of a power cut .I have a few bought from Makro years ago .They were £14.99 plus VAT, inside there is a 12V 7 Ah battery you can replace if you need to .They recommend you charge these up every 3 months to keep the battery in good shape .They normally come with an adapter to charge it up from the cigar lighter in the car whilst on the move .Good price
