I would be really grateful if you could explain why you have voted cold? If you know of a better deal I'd love to know it as I'll cancel the one I have ordered!

I think its a brill deal for a 13" portable with that spec

Acer 6530G, AMD Turion X2 Rm-72 Processor, 16" Screen, Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, Blu-Ray, Dedicated Graphics, LX.AUS0X.213

Spec:

Processor - AMD Turion X2 mobile processor RM-72 2.1 GHz Dual-Core
RAM - 4 GB (installed) 4 GB (max) - DDR2 SDRAM
Hard Drive - 320 GB
Operating System - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
Screen - 15.4 in 1366 x 768 (16" or 15.4" dunno?)
Optical Drive - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM / BD-ROM
Graphics - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 (512MB Dedicated)

i know the screens abit bigger, but this comes with 512mb dedicated graphics, full HD screen, HDMI out put and blu ray rom... for £599.99 from tesco (instore, have'nt seen this one online), i'd pay the £45 extra and get a much better laptop (in my opinion, but this one maybe to big).

spec here on acer site: http://www.acerdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_6530G_Laptop_LX.AUS0X.213/version.asp?refsource=adfroogle (but cost £20 more from acer).

thanks chrissieboy :) I was definitely after a 13 inch screen -that was the only pre-requisite! The 15 inch + are just too bulky for me. Haven't priced up bigger laptops but Im sure I could get a better spec for less money - funny things laptops!

thanks eshtal - i feel much better now ;) ! I tried to find some info on why Vostros were much cheaper than XPS but got nowhere? What would make you go for the XPS? I priced up 2 identical specs and no one could tell me why the xps was ~ £200 more....?

well im sure i'll get it, as the bank is in the process of a chargeback and dell are fully aware of that :-D so they have plenty incentive to keep me happy
