Someone better tip off the BBC who use about 5000 of these each year for their weekly Final Destination TV show also known as "Casualty"

If you buy the regulator, will this work with a BBQ?

Any gas bottle will work on a Gas bbq but you will need to use the correct regulator (the bit that attaches the gas pipe to the bottle)
The regulator you get supplied as standard with your bbq will NOT fit these bottles but a replacement one will cost about £8

Brilliant deal, we normally buy a few of these and chuck them on the bonfire (after half emptied of course) on bonfire night, what an explosion!. Local Kids love it. Before the H&S mob jump on my head (how ironic) we are all far away from it when it goes 'off'.
I do hope that comment was an attempt at humour! if it's not you need sectioning in the nearest nut house.

Great deal...ah, not propane...not so good.

This isn't patio gas.

Yes the yellow 13kg gas bottle from Flo Gas defo uses a standard 21mm regulator, they also do a blue 13kg gas bottle that looks similar to a calor butane bottle colour but that uses the more obscure 20mm gegulator.

They are fine if no problem but the last bottle they sold to me wouldn't work with my fire, customer service was none existent. In the end I used a screwdriver to push the valve open (in a well ventilated garden) to let some pressure out, worked fine after that.

But you do know don't you a propane bottle should NEVER be stored or used indoors in a domestic house or flat and only used in an area that has adequate means to allow leaked gas to escape.
A butane bottle has the gas stored in it at a much lower pressure making it safer to use and store in household gas heaters.
Obviously if your into winter caravanning or BBQ's in mid winter you'll need Propane because of the lower freezing temperature of the gas but for most peoples use this Butane is better.

I bought butane from this company last year... no problems at all. However, I would only ever buy propane now... bought the butane to use in a patio heater and it loses pressure after its been on for a while (maybe an hour) to such an extent that it becomes basically useless.

Very good deal used them a couple of times before for my gas BBQ how ever this summer I detached the regulator and the little ball inside the valve got stuck releasing all the gas with the biggest powerful woosh it scared the f out of me and the kids and I had to pick the bottle up and run down the bottom of the garden with it and just let the bottle empty it's self so that was a wasted nearly full bottle gutted. And nearly took my hand off with the pressure. I would buy from them again these things happen but it dose make you wonder if the bottles are cheaply made sometimes but cheap buy twice.

Indeed, Propane is patio gas...this isn't.

We use butane in our bbq, works just fine but in winter you may endup not being able to use it in cold temperature, the pressure on regulator is lower but the gas itself has more calories (power).
#23
13kg of gas? (_;)
#24
Good price, I've used them before. Got one a few weeks ago from Woldlink, £20.95 delivered, so this beats them.
#25
Thanks.. just purchased 4.. usually £24 from the local handy hire shop.. stocking up for winter to use in the indoor heaters I have..

BBQs are for life, not just bank holidays.

When this deal is expired, it's worth remembering woldlink, they are slightly cheaper than this price and deliver nationwide for free. No bottle deposits on all bottles including propane. They're banned from HUKD for some reason though, so can't post deal, but can be found on google/facebook.

of course this would have been covered under the sales of goods act and you would have got a refund/replacement?

butane is not for patio heaters, had someone changed the regulator? Butane is for when it's warm outside.
