Riu Palace Tres Islas Hotel is a 5* Thomson Platinum Hotel, Fuerteventura.

Total Price - £952 for 3 adults taking two cases.

Hotel is with Thomson Hotels:

Search:
9th May 2010 - 23rd May 2010
Fuereventura
1 room - 3 adults.

Scroll until you see the Riu Palace Hotel, which should come up at. £761 for the room which sleeps three (not per person)

Flights are with Easyjet from Liverpool airport (you can book from your local airport but it will cost more I presume)

Go onto Easyjet and search for flights with above dates, they come up to £51 each INC taxes and charges, then add two cases. This should make £191 for three return flights.

This is a great deal for two weeks at a platinum hotel, in May when the weather will be fantastic!

if you book as a total package from Thomson, the cost is £632 per person!

Transfers need to be added but are around £10 each if you look around the internet, or hire a car.

I don't want to go anywhere where 3 adults take two cases!

Good effort OP, I have stayed in several Riu hotels and they are always good.

Heat added.

Then add an extra one for £18, I took one off to lower the price, but you can always add :)

This looks a great buy and I like Riu Hotels.
What always annoys me is quotes that are
for three or more adults when rooms are
usually only fit for 2. I suppose they can
then quote a more attractive price but
there really arn't that many groups of 3
waiting for a deal.

Could be two parents and a child...

...or 3 friends

This is a good deal for 2 adults and a child, tried it for 2 adults and 2 kids and the price goes up to £1522, obviously 2 rooms needed, shame they don't have family rooms, still a great deal if there are just the three of you.

Just been looking at Easyjet's hold luggage conditions, and it's quite interesting, if not a little strange.
Easyjet give you a free baggage allowance of 20kg per person, and they allow you to pool the allowances. So 3 people on the booking means an allowance opf 60kg.
However you can't use the the allowance unless you pay to book the bags onto the flight.
So if you book 2 cases, you can use the maximum free allowance of 60kg i.e. 2 x 30kg. With 2 people the same applies, 40kg allowance, however the max. single case weight is 32kg, which is plenty.

Update: When I checked in, with 29kg, I was informed that after 1st Nov 2010, that easyjet will no longer allow pooling of baggage allowances, so max will be 20kg per bag.

Only if you pay for it - where do they say you get 20kg free?
#19
Or a baboon and two chimps.

Great deal

Well it's free in the sense that if you exceed the allowance, then you have to pay an excess.
But my point was that that the weight allowed, and the number of bags checked, are treated as different things. This means that paying for 1 bag, on a booking with 2 people, effectively gives you 32kg allowance, instead of the 20kg you might expect.

No you are reading it all wrong. The 32kg referred to is with reference to health & safety at airports and is nothing to do with your allowance. The maximum weight for a single item that they will accept (as with nearly all airlines) is 32kg. It is not relevant to your allowance for hold luggage on Easyjet. You allowance with them is 0kg, unless you pay (£18 per bag per passenger which allows you 20kg per passenger).

Well the reason I posted this was because I'd wondered why my booking later this month states "1 Checked bags per flight between all passengers combined up to a total combined weight of 32kg".

Using Google, I found this discussion http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=1824443, which seemed to explain what was going on.

Mind you that thread had it's share ill informed sceptics also.

Well I was only trying to help you, as someone who flies with Easyjet dozens of times a year to various destinations. Have it your way.

p.s. most of the topic you referred to is well over a year old. Your "allowance" is 0.0kg in 2010 unless you paid £18 per person extra.

Good luck.

1 Person, 1 Bag, 20kg -->£18
2 People, 1 Bag, 32kg -->£18

jeez, even I'm getting bored with this.
Maybe I should start a deal and see how cold it gets..
#27
[Edit] Ok I see where you are coming from now, you've come a long way from page 1 where you claimed Easyjet gave you a "free allowance" though ;)

Have a nice trip :D

Good deal!
Love Corraleji, the Riu hotel is a bit far out for me though - right on the sand dunes but a taxi journey or hour-ish walk from the main town as its in the middle of the dunes!

I'd defo go for the Lobos Bahia hotel - self catering but cheaper and it is a really nice hotel!

Saying that, I'd be happy with any holiday right now :(

Hi We have booked this hotel for July next year, total cost for three £832.00 which is incredible. We have been to Fuerteventura 9 times and i must say this hotel is fantastic. We normally stay next door at the Riu Oliva Beach which is all inclusive,at this price it is a bargain. We will be travelling with two adults and a teenager.Situated on the wonderful beach it is perfect. We always get car hire from the airport, it takes approx 30 mins to get to the hotel.DO NOT MISS THIS BARGAIN!!

Nine times?! Why not go somewhere else rather than the same place every time? So many places to see in the world.

Why risk going somewhere you may not like if you love a place so much?

Been 10 years in a row, havent been for a few years though!
