Weather is decent too; damn sight better than miserable, wet, cold, rainy UK. Expect temps of up to 24°C and 8 hours of sunshine per day.

My fiances family come from Lefkada (the island Nidri is on). Most of the islands about 40 minutes in a car away and there's 2 of the best beaches in Europe (on the other side of the Island unfortunately, but still). There's also a nice family/beach bar type place "Kapa" about 20 minutes going North towards the main town (Lefkas). Can't speak for Sapho's apartments but there's friends etc with nice one's in Nidri. The town(/village) itself isn't too bad either, a decent collection of bars and cafe's.

DEFINITELY hire a car though. Public transport is next to non-existent.

15ks luggage isn't much really. Most airlines give 23 so they will probably be trying to con you by charging about £100 at the check in desk
    wooookie
Thomas cook airlines are crap, you are squashed in like sardines, no leg room. If you can fly with Monarch to this destination that would be better, more leg room and 23kg hand luggage.

The trick is to take advantage of the 5kg hand luggage, I bought myself a nice lightweight wheely cabin case and always squeeze as much as I can into that, don't think they've ever weighed it either now I think of it. You can also shift a bit of weight into a laptop type bag giving you 20+kg total which should be more than enough for the average person.

Given that you spend most of the day in a bikini or shorts, 15Kg is loads of weight. Of course, if you think your summer holiday is a fashion shoot, you'll struggle. Add a few Kg of hand luggage, and there really is no problem! Just got back from a week in Majorca 2 15KG cases between 4 people plus hand luggage each, and I brought back stuff I'd not worn.

15KGs is pretty much standard these days, on most short haul flights.

Surely if on most deals you have to state the total price i.e. you must include delivery etc. then this type of deal should also show total price which in this case is either £414 and you have to take a person with you or £263 if you are alone.

This is great - wish I had enough annual leave left to book! 15kg of hold luggage sounds pretty standard to me.

Here's an idea - don't go to work on Sunday! Either book it off in leave or begin to start suddenly feeling very ill on Saturday afternoon, muscle through until the 5.30 like a trooper to show your dedication, then off Sunday as you can't face it.

Just got back from the chrysolous appartments. Excellent accommodation and a lovely spot. A family of five ate out with two rounds of drinks for thirty three euros. 20 mins walk to the harbour but the Santa Barbara restaurant served excellent food. There are Englishe restaurants but we enjoyed all the Greek tavernas. Did not have a bad meal anywhere.

Went to the Canaries with TC and the website said 15kg luggage but the tickets said 20kg and it was indeed 20kg. Be careful about going over as they will hit you on the way back. Greece need every penny !

As for the plane, gotta agreee, TC do cram you in. My knees were stuck against the wire of the magazine pocket. Had to drink numerous G&T's to ease the discomfort :3

I work for thomas cook as cabin crew and have to agree that the leg room isnt the best , but you wont get much more if you fly on other airlines for the price. It will also depend on which aircraft type is being used for this route. Would like to point out like tallpete said that , a few G & T's later and you wont notice the leg room . We are also much cheaper to buy products onboard than most other airlines.

Most of these are family run places too. If you ask nicely use of a washing machine is probably no problem.

As said though, you'll spend most of the day in swim-shorts and a t-shirt you take off and put on as a guy and a bikini with something (either summer dress or light clothes) to go over it as a girl. A couple of bits of evening wear (you don't need anything too posh as most places you'll eat are taverna's - GOOD, cheap food in a very relaxed atmosphere) and a couple of pairs of shoes and obviously lots of underwear and you are done. 15KG is fine.

Get used to amazing hospitality in Greece too. If you appear even moderately pleasant they are almost militant with their hospitality, it means everything to them so never refuse an invite to something more private (e.g being invited to the tavern owners table etc).
