Maybe, but I post meat deals too, as it is something that interests me, both professionally and as a consumer; but more odd that someone who appears to think £10-odd/kg for fresh sirloin from Waitrose (not the cheapest, but not too bad at all for price & quality) is a good deal would think this mish-mash of incredibly overpriced frozen gear is also a good offer! :?

food for saps who cant cook and who like to pay over the odds.....probably eat in michelin rated restaurants too (went to and paid for one michelin star highly rated restaurant and quite simply it was one of the worst meals ive ever had - was £100/head, no wine - ate at home after the pathetc lack of food / tasteless "experience" - my wife is a much better cook)

You can't beat a home made burger.

nothing like some consumer ignorance to vote a deal cold!

Donald Russell meat is legendary quality.

The meat is hermetically/vaccuum sealed and "fast frozen" and is delivered in a dry ice filled carton. A result of which is it loses no flavour, and tastes as good as "fresh", which is why several top chefs and restaurants throught the uk get their meat from donald russell.

But then as Im sure your aware fresh steak is not really what you are after! you want meat which has been hung for a period of time for the flavour etc to come out. Donald Russell hang for 21 days.

how long does your local butcher hang his meat before chopphing it up, and selling it on?

im willing to bet a lot less than 21 days, hence not comparable meat!.

go check sainsburies, look at the difference between their "cheap steaks" and their "hung steaks"

and indeed hence the premium price you pay!

and why it is a bargain at the price quoted here.

Under 2lb of burgers for ......£23 +£5 delivery...yeah right:x

stick to farmfoods then , feed your self and kids crap if you like (other budget supermarkets are available),
and keep drinking your 3 for £10 bottles of wine from asda.

however dont put deals down just because they are for the finer things in life.

some people are willing to pay more for quality

I'd need proof of quality before spunking £28 on some mini burgers, and I guess many here are the same. Great if thats what floats your boat, but without free tasters they won't ever sell to the majority.

You could waste your money at a butcher, but Dalepack , Ross and most discount frozen food chains will supply you with a range of value meats for a lot less

The average home freezer is set to appox -18c.
Dry ice freezes to approx -80c so for some really really really great tasting meat why dont they just go the whole hog and deliver it soaked in liquid nitrogen ?

Champagne sucks so wouldn't care! Regardless though, these are burgers FFS. If they aren't hand rolled on naked virgins thighs before my very eyes they aren't worth this much. I've eaten a lot of burgers, I've made many of my own, and I've not found It necessary to ever spend this much on them. Even if I hand minced decent fillet steak it'd only be aproaching this cost, and the increase in quality to what I've made and bought has always been great. If I wanted to spend this I'd be making something special, not serving something frozen.
