One for the Apple fans so please don't vote cold for that reason :)

Previous model MacBook Pro in clearance at Comet and a copy of Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 included in the price.

Shown as £400 off already. There's a voucher on here for £80 off selected laptops that seems to work (£80 off selected Laptops - Code: LAP80AW) and Quidco at 4%, so could come in below £1000.

Hot, seems to be the cheapest online if the mentioned code + Quidco is successful.

However I must say a similar spec'd laptop say for e.g. from Dell would cost almost 50% it not less that 50% of this deal price, I have nothing against Apple but if you're new in the market and and looking for a new laptop, some of the Dell laptop deals on this site will give you the best bang for your buck.

Archer... do dell sell laptops that run mac os? no, arr right then... so you cant actually compare the two!

The listing says its running tiger, so it must be quite an old model! I think i'd rather get the top of the range macbook for that price. Good find, but a bit too much out of date for me!

No where in my post did I mention the Dell machines could run Mac OS, it was just a hint for newbies in the market looking for a new laptop

no, you said that a similar spec'd dell laptop would be cheaper. but its not similar spec'd as the operating system is different.

Thus the use of the word similar

Appears to be a mid-2007 model so still fairly good for everyday use.

The current bottom of the range is £1299 and has virtually the same spec in terms of speed but does have a Penryn rather than a Merom processor, a multi-touch trackpad and Leopard but no MS Office.
