It's lucky we don't have a drink problem in the UK because this kind of thing could only make it worse.

I'm not going on another Sainsburys wild goose chase until I know.
It's a great price, but i'm fed up of going to find these non-existant Sainsburys deals.

its got nothing to do with a drink problem...

some people just dont know when to stop.. its got nothing to do with cheap drinks.... You can get a gram of heroin for about £15. most junkies know when to stop so they dont OD.. why dont alchol drinkers ?

Pisch poor beer but good deal for those that aren't fussy on what they drink and can actually manage to find some!

It's perfect for the women who don't want the strong stuff. And at 5.75 a case it subsidises me having to pay more for the good stuff :)

And that's the trap people fall into! The likes of 5%abv Stella, Heineken, Kronenbourg 1664 aren't really "strong" beers as such - they're just run of the mill pilsners but because this country is awash with watered down variants, such as the one in this deal, then the rest of the stuff suddenly becomes "premium" beer and people become willing to pay a premium price for it. You'd certainly be hard pushed to find a 4%abv lager made by one of the leading brands on the continent. I get your point about buying this stuff for the missus though as it's always a good idea to have some cheap stuff in for when friends come round! :-)

Proper Stella tastes like ****, very chemically tasting & gives you a roaring headache - the 4% stuff is very smooth & a lovely drink

I always enjoy mobile phone, mountain bike and beer deals because loads of 'experts' always come out of the woodwork to slate the product. I like this beer but some people don't, I wish people could accept this simple premise. Certainly doesn't make it a poor product. If you can find this deal in stock at this price then it's a great deal.

Wasn't in Sainsburys Chester

I'm sure all the big supermarkets are onto sites like this, so they purposely put a 'too good to be true' offer in one store, knowing it'll get reported (probably by someone in the marketing dept :) ). The hope being thousands of people will rush out on the strength, and when they don't find what they're looking for they'll buy something else.

I got sick of being 'conned' by ASDA and as a result I don't shop there anymore - that and the number of chavs the place pulls in :)

Not on offer in Northampton - Cold!

Sainsburys in Leamington Spa had it at £10. Don't think this deal is nationwide. Maybe a misprice?
