First deal, please be gentle:

A premium-quality, trattoria-style coffee maker that brews authentic Italian espresso and cappuccino. Filter holder with crema ensures 100% espresso taste.

ESE pods
Removable drip tray
Steam pipe for frothing milk
Detachable water tank
1150W, 15 bar pressure
Stainless steel housing

I've no idea of the quality of this, but it seems like a very decent price.

I think I will get one of these, seems similar to others but 3 yr warranty is good just incase it is poor quality and aldi are good with returns. I noticed it in the latest offers book but glad you reminded me!

It isn't clear from the description if it ONLY uses Pods... do check before you get it, the pods are expensive, and very limiting - Otherwise, I am tempted to get one myself to replace my very ageing DeLonghi machine which is starting to rust!

Right, just phoned Aldi, and they couldnt give me a definate on whether it only takes the pods, but they did say that in their magazine, this is advertised along side their ground roast coffee. This would imply it takes both.

These type of esspresso machines take ground coffee and also the ese pods which are very different to the other type of pod machines.

Ese pods just make it easier and cleaner than loose ground coffee and they are not as expensive as the pods for tassimo etc.

Still just as limiting though! :-(

I think this is unlikely to have both systems - at the cheap end of the market - for pods and ground it normally means there is more than one head to the unit (or at least different filter units which fit in the head) - one for ground and one for pods. I did have a Delonghi model some years ago that had two, and they were QUITE differently configured. Other cheap models usually only have one head - for ground coffee only, but this is unusual in the way it only refers to pods!

Still, it is easy enough to buy, open up in the car park, and take back in if it is pods only I suppose!

I bought one of these last year, and for the money it is fantastic - not far off my dad's gaggia! I have used ground coffee and also beans which I have ground myself. The Crema is excellent and the steamer for the milk is really good too! Have never tried pods in it as like real coffee! Hope this helps!

Sounds good. Though I am sure the ESE pods are REAL coffee. They are just tea bag type stuff containing real ground coffee, just to make it easier/cleaner I expect.

I will be getting one on sunday:thumbsup:

I picked on of these up this morning. Seems well made and makes a nice coffee for the price. Takes a bit to make one compared to a pod type but the coffee is hot and you can have as much as you like unlike the tassimo that has small portion sizes.

3 yr warranty too so not bad for the money.
