i must say the customer service in b and q stinks. homebase is much better plus you dont need to spend £50

I can confirm this offer at B&Q.

And the post by thedoncambridge is a load of rubbish.
Yes, sometimes you will get bad customer service there, but isn't that true for alot of other retailers?

I work there, and feel like it's a harsh comment from thedoncambridge.

But yeah, 15% off minimum spend of £50. Friday - Monday.

How can you say the customer service in B&Q stinks? There isn't any customer service, hasn't been for years.

What you can say though is that the prices in Homebase stink, even on their silly discount days.

What you have to remember is B&Q Customer Service is now down to the department in which you need the help. So if your walking through the tile aisle and you ask someone where the tiles are. Or you're standing in front of bathrooms and ask someone where bathrooms is, they aren't going to have the best customer service in the world, because you aren't even paying attention.

You would not believe some of the arrogant customers we deal with on a daily basis, if you ever come across a member of staff that doesn't seem helpful, crack a joke, say it cant be that bad. They will soon smile and help you as much as they can. But be warned they may tell you how bad it can be.

I've never had any problems with customer service in any of my 3 local stores; I've found help whenever I need it, never failed to have my questions answered, and frequently make use of their no-quibble return policy. My only criticism used to be that they never had enough people manning the tills at quiet times, but they've added some self-service tills now and that makes things much easier.

Thanks for the heads up, needed to get a new kitchen so might aswell now lol. As for b&q costumer service, i agree most people on the shop floor are not very helpful, but when i have ever had a problem and been to the costumer service point i have always been helped!

I agree. B&Q have the worst Customer Service.

I just called them to check for stock on an item for which I have the product code.
1st call - rang for 4 mins, picked up and immediately put on hold. hung up after waiting another 5 minutes
2nd call - answered after a minute and got to speak to an actual person. Asked if they had an item in stock and gave the product code, put on hold for a further 6 mins by which time I gave up and hung up (thought staff just had to enter the product code into a computer?)
May go to the store, but there will be no staff other than at the tills!

The deal is good, but I wonder how many people with give up with frustration?

i do not work for homebase. i am merely passing comment based on experience. i shop in alot of diy shops all the time and have noticed with b&q that it is hard to get help. the other day a staff walked passed and completely ignored me while talking on his mobile phone. another time i was made to wait for 45 mins to get help with curtains because the assistant on duty who was supposed to help me disappeared. i must admit the only reason i go b and q is for its product range

Hi just to let yo guys out there know that most of the air conditioning units and cooling fans have been slashed in price. example from £279.99 - £139.00. worth a browse, I know we haven't got brilliant weather here but good to clean the air of pollen for those with pollen sniffles.

I agree 101%.....worst thing is every time i go their i say never again, but still end up needing something or other, going in again thinking "it will be ok, i only need a few screws" or whatever. and somehow still end upleaving frustrated for one reason (customer service!) or another (silly waiting times at the tills!)

Can't find it online but B&Q in London had a VAX bagless vacuum with a free, yes, free, VAX carpet washer type - full size. Was £99 but down to £85 or so. That would make £72 or so for the pair. Both in same box as well so not a shop offer.
