I usually give my old bedding, cushions etc.. to my local animal shelter.

Could you any more brazenly jump on the energy saving bandwagon? You might as well advertise anti-perspirant as a tool for creating sustainable water reserves.

Great deal for those who feel the cold or can't afford to pay high heating bills. Far too warm for me to use. I have only just changed over from the summer 4.5 tog quilt to the autumn one at 8 togs, and that was only because the wife was complaining of the cold. Bet she is even going to want the central heating on soon as well. :whistling:;-)

Or choose to be careful about the amount of energy they use.

my heating has been on for the past couple of weeks now, bloody freezing starting to get frost in the mornings now, i often wake up in the middle of the night freezing its like a sceen from the excorcist, i have had my goose feather 15 tog on all year,

And don't mind dying younger... :-D

Nah - there's heated and there's overheated.

I was half serious. Look at the mortality rate of older peoples during the winter. It's scary.
#30
Yes, I agree. I wasn't talking about old people who need a certain temperature though (which is better achieved by proper insulation than heating the sky, but that's another story!). My point was simply that there are more consequences to switching on the heating than the two mentioned: feeling the cold (which is often caused simply by not putting enough clothes on because we have been seduced into being in T-shirts all year round in overheated houses) and paying the bills.
