150 points @ Tesco purchasing gift vouchers

If you purchase gift vouchers on a regular basis, or if you know that you'll be spending/purchasing anything at a variety of stores both online and the old fashioned store you can get triple the clubcard points (i even think you can buy a Tesco gift voucher and use it for your normal shop (so in theory you can get 200 points per £50 gift voucher) but there are many stores for which you can buy the vouchers, so paying off store cards or buying vouchers for picky teenagers.

types of gift cards available

150 Clubcard points awarded when you spend £50 in a single transaction on selected gift cards in store, excluding Tesco Gift Cards and blinkbox gift cards. Points will appear on your next available Clubcard Statement.

I was trying to find the list. But the points all add up and you can the double them with clubcard boost and even quadruple them online. :)

You don't get any clubcard points for buying a tesco giftcard and certainly not any bonus points.

Expect a big announcement about the clubcard boost on Monday morning ;)

Any hints? Not anything bad I hope

What's the announcement please if you know? Is it bad news? Are they stopping the 4x amount? Vouchers due next week as well! :-(

Yep I've heard big announcement coming next week. Also a rumour that Avios bonus is back, 800 instead of 600.

So it's good news is it? I want to take my kids to London Zoo so hoping they are not changing the 4 x value. I have been saving them for ages!

I personally would NOT buy these cards expecting them to always work & get 150 points for 2 - often they fail to activate and you're left at CS looking like a criminal trying to get your £25 or £50 back from a Manager who thinks you somehow swindled Tesco out of the money.

Can't believe I never thought to do this, haven't been using tesco the same this last year or so and noticed the lack of points I now have on my card but could have been doing this to boost them!!!!!

Voted hot. This promotion has been running for ages.

You do need to check that all the cards activate properly before you leave the store. When this promotion first started I used to have issues but these days not so much.

I use the Starbucks cards. You can transfer the balance (i.e. merge) via the Starbucks app. Using a Amex Gold card get 100 MR points + 150 club card points per £50 spend.

The big announcement is already on HUKD.

I'll be buying my main Xmas gifts this way. Branded gift cards only but still a good range! For denominations over £100, ask to put the 2 £50's through as seperate transactions and get the 150 point bonus twice.
