I think it's a case of if I needed one (of this size) I'd happily pay £2.99 each. Heat added.

or free from ikea

Problem is, unless you live near an IKEA, most people are going to have to travel a fair distance to get to one. Screwfix are fairly local in most cities and towns. Either pay for fuel to claim free stuff from ikea (dishonestly if product not originally bought from them), or just go to screwfix and buy what you need honestly. Heat added.

This looks like the regular price from Screwfix (and as such it is a perfectly good part at a reasonable price from a good retailer), so why is it being crowed about at a hot deal?
I wish people would think before they post.

Ikea recently changed the material these are made from. The dye cast metal versions of these are brittle and if over tightened will break. The new version of this used by ikea is made from a robust polymer which is far more resistant to the stresses of screwing in too tight. If you can get to an ikea I would advise getting modern replacements free of charge. You can also call them and complain and they will post out. Writing to their UK CEO helps. I got a response next day and a gift voucher as compensation for an issue I had.
