lived in 2 and been to Hawaii as well. Seems like a great price for a lot of travel. Word of advice is be careful where you stay in LA as some parts can be rough.

Good deal - personally I'd spend as little time as possible in LA, but SF and Hawaii are both top destinations. Hawaii has so much more to offer than the beach holiday paradise you see at first glance too.

Who in their right mind would travel that far and stay in such terrible accomodation?!?! Pointless.

maybe someone who isnt going to spend much time in their hotel room?

I wouldn't mind spending a couple of days in SF, but would rather skip LA.

I'm guessing food and drink in Hawaii is probably very expensive mind.

Anyone tried adding children into the equation for prices to see if its at all cheaper for kids?

Food and drink in Hawaii is actualy very reasonable, last time we were there was in 2010 on the way back from Australia and it was far cheaper than Australia.

Absolutely LOVED San Francisco when I went. Highly recommended. I've been to L.A. too, albeit a LONG time ago. I doubt it's changed a huge amount though and personally wouldn't waste my time there. I recall it being pretty grimy and most locals were weird and/or rude.
If I want that kind of experience, I can just pop to Central London on the Tube for a LOT less ;)

Australia is extortionate though! But I agree on the whole...its not too bad if you stick to the local stuff.

LA - couple of days visit is enough. San Fran is much more interesting.

Domestic Beer (0.5 liter draught) £2.73 (UK) £3.91 (Australia) £2.47 (Honolulu)
Imported Beer (0.33 liter bottle) £2.89 (UK) £4.56 (Australia) ££3.26 (Honolulu)
