Celebrate the release of Star Trek XI with a model of the original and best Enterprise!

Just got mine in the post, what a bargain I thought. RRP (£29.99) Fair size model. Electronic sounds are great, button is on the top of the saucer intergtated into the bridge dome (several catchphrases from the film and sound fx) Ship lights up in time to the sound fx. The model has great detail and has a nice 'silvery' finish (like in TMP) Took some pics with my camera phone sorry for bad quality, it looks a lot better in the flesh. Product well packed in the post.

Sound FX you get:

"Kirk to Spock"
-Beaming down/up effect-
"I don't believe in a no-win scenario"
(of course) "KHANNNNNNN...... KHANNNNNNN!!"
"Fire (firing effect)"
"From hells heart, I stab at thee"
-Warp speed effect-
"I don't like to lose"
-Red Alert-
"Let them eat static"
"Fire!!! (phaser fire)"
"Times up, Admiral"
"Lock phasers on target and wait for my command"
"Time is a luxury you don't have"

(Blurb) "A new version of the classic U.S.S. Enterprise electronic ship. Measuring 16-inches long, starship features light up nacelles and effects and now comes complete with all new sound effects from the Wrath of Khan movie (still regularly voted the best Trek film) and an all-new paint scheme. Superb toy. "

**Also available at Play.com for £22.99 delivered**

Yes. No problem.

Nice! Good price, looks excellent. Now I just have to fight my star trek nerd instinct and resist buying it.

Looks good - very tempting!

How was the packaging? I've never tried FP for mail order - and after getting some bits from Play that were practically ruined due to being poorly packed, it put me off buying my 'collectables' onlline

If you are interested Tesco's are selling the new movie figues bogof at the moment (£6.97 for the galaxy range and £9.97 for the warp range) - was going to post it earlier this evening but got distracted

oh,wheres me debit card! gotta have one!
#8
Incidentally it cost £19.49 delivered rather than 20.74 as the OP suggested.

Packaging was A*, used those little bags with air in them to cushion the box. I agree with you about Play, very hit and miss.

It goes through at £20.74 but I found only £19.49 comes out of your bank account for some reason another member has confirmed this also (see post #9)

OK, I'm a female and I like sci-fi including Star Trek, but can someone help me out with why this is appealing? I'm not hating, just curious. It is not a real ship and can't fly around, so all you can do is look at it and cause it to makes some sounds. ?????
#25
It's basically a Toy for men who should know better....

Now where's my Debit card....

Imagination is where its at with Star Trek, grew up believeing that we would be swarming all over space by the time I was a man. Big disappointment, so the Trek is a bit of escapism to what we should be striving for, less greed and more exploration of the Stars.
Would love to know from a woman what the big deal is a about Deperate Housewives or Corrie or Emmerdale...? They are so mundane.
Asked the wife and she just shrugs and says go watch your programmes upstairs.. Corries coming on. Men are from Mars and women are from Cloud Cuckoo Land or somewhere near by..
All this is said quietly so the wife wont hear and i wont get it in the ear - tongue in cheek too:whistling:

For those who have ordered, I ordered mine on the 24th April and recieved it yesterday (DHL) so don't panic if it doesn't arrive this week.

My ex used to like Earth: Final Conflict and Star Gate

If she liked Sci Fi then why oh why is she your EX...:-D
She should be your current and one and only. Not to mention your presents to her could have been episodes of your favourite sci fi... it was win win. :)
As for Big Bang Theory, havent really watched a great deal of it but the idea is comforting to an ex nerdy geek type like me. The eye candy is goooood tooo.....
I reformed and got into sports and tennis coaching but I still cherish my inner geek and feed him on tidbits of Trek and Stargate late at night when no one is looking
