This deal was posted before at £172.47 however when I logged into AVforums for the free delivery saver and it brings the price up at £160.99. I have ordered one and had confirmation of the order from Scan with a delivery date of Tuesday.

In the other post there was some debate about it being a Gen 1 Touch or not. I think you have to assume that is is because even though the picture and some of the description refers to a Gen 2 it actually says 'MA627LL/A - 16GB Apple iPod Touch Black-Silver Music/Video Player Version 1'.

So OK it's not the latest model but for me I think it's still a cheap 16gb Ipod Touch - Unless anyone can accept the challenge and find it cheaper of course.

As ever don't vote cold because it's a Gen 1(I've made that clear) or you 'think' you can find it cheaper - Talk facts only please and don't ruin it for everyone else.

it's a good price if you can do without an in-built speak...I used to have a gen 1 touch and it's anoying when you want to show someone something on youtube or a video you have on your touch and you have to keep passing the earphones around!

Rated hot anyways though - good find!

Agree, but how ridiculous is it that the v3 update includes bluetooth but only for bluetooth speakers????? so you cant go online via your bluetooth enabled phone:roll:

Don't forget that the 1st gen models can be upated to give most of the 2nd gen functionality you refer to e.g mail. The speaker and volume controls are the only real differences.

I got a 16GB 1st Gen from the O2 deal from a few months back, and although I do miss the speakers and 3g internet (which is an option on the iPhones, NOT the Touchs), these are great pieces of kit. I've got a pretty decent small speaker I picked up from Poundland, which helps.

Couldn't quite bing myself to pay just £20 less than dixons then price for a 2nd gen touch,so have been waiting for ...

http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/specialdeals/ipod/ipod_touch

Lots of touches back in stock on the refurb store, got myself an 8Gb 1st gen one for £105. Think it's worth going for 2nd gen normally cos of bluetooth, external speaker for games, slimmer feel, better battery life, however 2nd gen is less compatible with some peripherals (such as my car stereo ipod dock) for charging therefore I needed a 1st gen one to save spending another £20 on a charging dongle.

Also couldn't bring myself to spend too much money on 2nd gen when 3rd gen should be out in a couple of months, likely meaning some price drops on older gear ...

If you want to match scan's product then they have 16Gb Gen1 for £155 minus about a fiver quidco.

It's worth pointing out that if you can go a few weeks more without an iPod Touch, the 3rd gen is reportedly due out next month. Rumoured upgrades include more memory, faster CPU, camera, and a microphone, although how much of that will turn out to be true isn't known. Might just be a slightly thinner case and nothing else. 'Tis perhaps worth putting back your purchase if you're in no desperate need though, I have.

it's not showing now?

anyone know how to easily PLAY divx/xvid/flv videos on the touch? I don't mind jailbreaking but I heard that VLC4iPhone doesn't work very well? I'm interested in an ipod touch but I don't want to have to convert all my videos to one of apples propietary file formats...

(does anyone know if this is possible with gen2 touches btw?)
